It is likely something is getting lost in our communication. You said, 5 minutes is history not to count on. We must look at now not history.

I understand trading like that. I ran a trading operation where a 10 tick chart was considered slow. Every price correction was traded.

But I do not understand, how history (minutes, hours or days) is meaningless when trading longer TF charts. As the TF your trading seems to be in direct conflict with your comments. As I said, something must be getting lost in the conversation.

My comment on loss was....

I had though you where long and with an hours worth of price dropping, assumed you would go with the current price, as you said 5 mins ago does not matter. If that were the case, you would not be long while price drops. This is the point of confusion.

Further, I don't think it possible that the price action over the last 2 days, without history supporting it is possible.

I'm not trying give u a hard time , either, but AUD/USD was bearish 3 months in a row , and 3 weeks in a row. If you want those type of odds stacked against you, fine. Sure it's possible we'll get a correction, but what are the odds.

Petar,

The Month, week, yesterday, 720, 360, 240 and 120 min charts were down when I took my trades. Down = lower highs and lower lows. I give additional weight to where on the bar the close is. 1/2 and up and 1/2 and down carry meaning for me.

Which were at the high of the price channel.

Looks like we're going up before down, 1.3755 on the eu which will put au close to 8750 I would imagine

Guys lol you are beginers or ? YOu will always have 2 trends in same moment,if you look daily 10 candles before is down (down trend) if you look large pictutre main trend is UP...As i said when you undestand that you will can make good profits,this is just my advice...

Oh, I'm short from 5620 still from earlier. We'll see how it goes. I see some resistance @ about 5607 currently.

I'll post a chart when I get home from work, I should be off within an hour or so.

clouds cant understand why he loss,if he trade with the trend ... how can you make money if you trade against the trend ?? is that possible..

If you're system tells you to go long, do it.
Just wasn't sure what you're reasoning was. I've seen you post many charts , shorting GJ and EJ, and all were good. Just trying to put some input. I'd rather get stopped out going with trend, than going against it.

Still has bearish bias...8864 8877 is sell zone but 8864 should cap the run as this is the point it becomes bullish or bearish..

So the newer trader is not lost in the controversy, I attach a chart. In this case the TF is 360 mins. It does not need to be that TF, it was handy, I use the longer TF chart to determine if I have an interest in trading a pair and then a 20,10 and 5 for setups and tick, second or 1 min chart for my trigger.

As I view AUD right at this moment, it is moving sideways, with more risk going long than short. The risk is close, because, to short now, could have price come back against me (from 8700 to 8800) and to go long has the weight of the main trend on me. However I have taken a number of shorts in the 8700 area and would not have considered a long.

What I look for and avoid and how I view the risk of taking on a trade is in the picture. I have other Quant systems that generate price points, but the picture gives a general idea of what I seek in terms of price location.

I don't take on any trade and bail if a stop is hit. I expect each trade to generate a profit. I invest a lot of time and risk capital to select my trades. Each trade has a trading plan before I begin and the plan is altered based on reality. I expect high and consistent pip generation. I manage to a daily pip capture. Some days I sleep more than others.

I do not use stops and in 25 years plus in trading, never been hurt by that single fact. That is because my trades start off with the highest probable result to begin with and I am married to my trade until it is closed.

If you have any questions to learn, I will be happy to answer. I will not debate this being right and some other method wrong, that is silly. All one needs to do is look at a price bar in single tick form to understand what I am saying. Price moves up and down in the creation of a bar - no matter if the the trend is up or down.

As I have said over and over... FOR ME I prefer the lower risk trade and to be selective. This gives me a very high success rate, high returns and peace of mind. That does not mean one can not make money trading long and short. I don't think it is worth the added risks.


For me this works.
