surprise decision by the RBA to leave Australian interest rates on hold...would have been another 100+ pips if I held the aud/nzd trade.

What can you do? I did make the smarter move, only this time it didn't pay off.

That happens all the time in Forex. If you are a news trader it can be great. The guy that trained me was a news trader. After one month I felt I would have a heart attack by the end of the year so I quit news trading. Not for me. If you have emotions of steel it can be done.

I am back in the saddle again. Nice having a computer that works. Will post Monday stuff this post and Tuesday stuff in the next. So this is old news. However, I like the 1757 total pips for the month.

I just happen to like the eur/nzd pair and the way it flies around the chart.

Sorry I missed your question. This EA is run on Tick value. Here is the line in the code:

PipValue=MarketInfo(Symbol(),MODE_TICKVALUE);
I dont know how you would change this but I looked at the different mode values and if you changed this to MODE_OPEN I think this would change it to the next bar open. You test that on a demo and find out.
In other EAs you have to turn the Tick value to off and then it reads by bars. For example in another EA it has this function:
extern bool EachTickMode = True;
You would then put it to false and then the EA would operate according to the bars on the chart you are using.

My suggestion would be is to have a regular MA cross EA that does not reenter (mult-level or martingale EA) You could change the Magic number and use multiple EAs to have the multi-level effect. For example EA #1 would be .01 magic number 1; EA #2 would be .02 and magic number 2 and so on. If price enters on the first EA and then uncrosses you could then put the 2nd EA on and then it would enter a 2nd level at the new cross. A multilevel approach using MA crosses but using regular EAs. Since you would have several magic numbers at once you would need a third EA that would close all trades when PT is reached or set the PT manually or have each EA have its on PT. I will probably go to this idea when I get my new EA ready for my 4H system. It allows me to reenter off of price movement instead of a fixed number and then you could set a profit target.

Thanks for trying Bob but your suggestion to change the mode to OPEN doesn't work either when compiled. EA still trading before bar close. Man I wish I could program.

OK try this then: MA set at 1, shift 0, MA method SIMPLE, and MODE to open. The MA 1 line will only move to the next candle at the open. So your logic could go like this.
Scenario #1:
If MA1 OPEN is > MA5 & MA8 Buy
OR
Scenario #2:
If MA1 OPEN is > MA5 & MA5 > MA8 BUY

That should work and then you are telling the EA to only trade at the open of the candle. This logic should work on any EA. Good Luck.

I think you were on the right trail when you were looking at this line PipValue=MarketInfo(Symbol(),MODE_T ICKVALUE);
Changing TICKVALUE to OPEN didn't work but I tried changing it to CLOSE and the EA is waiting now. Will let you know for sure later.

Actually you are right. Once that candle opens during that period it is always open so it will trade. Doing the close makes the candle wait until close before the EA works. Gee you are better than me.

Thank you aud/nzd, nice run. Woke this morning and saw this beautiful run of 100+. Take your profit because if the AUD news is bad in the next half hour it will come back down. HMMMMMMMMMM Once in a while you walk into one. I had posted the nzd/chf as a buy accidentally but it was a sell. It too would have been a nice trade but I didnt take it. Oh well. Sorry about the mistake. I also took the EUR/CHF later in the day for +30 but did not post it so I am not adding it here. Everything else is playing dead. Good day to play the BB on the 5M or 15M chart.

I am adding some trades during the EURO session so they will count in my totals. Now when I say this it means I have turned the EA on. It doesnt mean I am entering the trade. I am letting the EA do that. My theory is if the news story breaks in my favor, I will do well. If not then the EA wont enter. Almost every trade is a Secondary trade. See ya later. I spoke too soon. Changing TICK VALUE to CLOSE doesn't make the EA wait until candle close to access weither there was a cross of MA's. I thought my platform was waiting for the cross after candle close but it wasn't trading because my demo had finished it's 30 day life span. So I'll try to figure out how to add the other changes Bob talked about and see if that works.

OK that was ugly. Glad I took that hedge on the chf/jpy, wish I had done it with the eur/jpy. Now we have to get to work. I have 709 pips pocketed for the week so lets use some of that to get myself out of trouble here. I will wait until after the jpy session, see what retracements I get. All the news is bad and all the news reports are saying USD news will be good tonight. I have seen them sand bag traders before. I dont believe them. So the market moved very unusally to overbought/sold positions the day before, very unusual. hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Gonna sit tight for now.

Sheesh, finally the daily S line held, it is the only reason I am holding some of these trades past the 400 pip line looking for price to retrace here. Hope I am right. I also began checking my weekly support levels and found a whole bunch of currencies right at the S line on the weekly and took the trades manually at the Weekly S line. A bunch of them are showing small profits so that is going to help. So that is my logic. You may want to take a look at all the currencies you are in or ones you may want to take. Weekly S line would be a great entrance and the start of digging myself out here. If they S/R levels dont hold I will have to take out all 4 level 1 trade of chf/jpy, eur/jpy, nzd/jpy and usd/chf. That will bring my DD to more acceptable levels and we go on. It will put me in a losing situation for the month but I can overcome those losses and still make a profit for the month. It will be around 1800 pip loss with 949 in the bank. I will have enough month left to over come a 800 pip negative so maybe it looks bad now but its not a problem that can be overcome. So playing the Weekly S/R lines and if they bounce I keep my profits. If they dont my loss is not disasterous but can be overcome. One of the things in trading is having a plan and that is my plan. I just dont close out losses without a plan of getting out. So my plan is weekly S/R lines hold, stay in, they dont hold get out.

I am excited, I have what I have been looking for in a trade manager program:

In a nutshell this program will manage all or part of your trades according to what inputs you want. Some but not all of the things it does is:
Multi-purpose trade manager – instructions for use
This ea supervises open trades and offers these facilities for:
● selected individual trades;
● groups of trades linked by a common magic number or comment;
● or all trades
● Moves the stop loss at appropriate intervals – to breakeven, jumping stop, trailing stop.
● Offers the option to hide the stop from the broker; likewise the take profit.
● Close all open trades when the upl reaches a set target; this can include pending orders.
● Part-closure (50%) when the price reaches a set target.
● Hedge-trade opening for trades that are going bad.
● Equity protection: close all open trades when upl hits a specified level.
By default, all options are set to 'false', so the ea will do nothing until you choose some

In other words I can set this EA to my EAs magic number or all my trades and it will automatically move my SL up to 0 after x amount of pips, then +10 after x amount of pips and then every 50 pips (or any chosen number) it will move 50 pips. You can have it do a MT4 trailing stop or a jump stop where it doesnt move until price moves 50 pips (or any other number) Anyway read the material, test it on a demo and let me know how it works I will be trying it out. I have had several trades, (in fact, most of my deep DD trades started quickly in profit 20-50 pips) then reversed. This program would catch the minimum profit of +10 or breakeven and then we could reenter at the next cross. This will also need an EA that trades once and quit and we have one of those. In other words if the Hopwood EA closes a trade you dont need the EA reentering on you again at that point. So test it out and let me know.

Here is a 3x3 cross sell and buy ea. There are both 4D and 5D versions. None of these EAs have been tried on a live or live demo account so do not live trade them until proven. But these EAs should trade one time and quit. They should not reenter once closed. You would need to turn off the EA and restart it on that currency for it to trade again. Good luck. Once we get this all working then we can work on a way to run multi-level trades.
