It simply depend if you like to daytrade or swing trade. Personally i found daytrading more lucrative but i found it was unhealthy for me and it didn't fit my life style, so i decided to become a swing trader and looking at small time frame became irrelevant. If you like to spent all day in front of screen then 15min charts is ok but if you, like me, can only afford 5-10 minutes in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening then swing trading is the way to go with daily and 4hr chart.
That Tim says it's better on small time frame, good for him. He's a full time trader. He does simply have more opportunity then a swing trader. He can trade then countertrend. But i am sure ML works good if not better on big TF. Look at USDJPY weekly just for fun. (investor TF.)
