enewbold, I'm new to ichimoku, your chart setup gives nice disparity between price and the ichimoku, very interesting perspective. I've been reading about ichimoku for the past week now, I find it very interesting, it fits my eye well. Thanks for sharing your indicator.

Firstly, a big ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU to Kinko-San and to Egy Trader for kindly sharing their 1 minute scalping methodology and the "Chikou Great Hunter". I made 10 consecutive trades--all winners and gained 186 pips using these methods together. I entered on a 1M chart then moved to 5M as less noise, & made my exits based upon candles/doji/hammers. The stop losses were quite "bearable" at 2 -5 pips per trade.

Being new to Ichimoku, I have been going thru a "great night of the soul" with stop loss problems, t/f's, whipsaws, and wondering how to put it all together cost effectively. I am very grateful for your sharing these methods because it was a much needed shot-in-the- arm for me.

I have read all the info I can find on this site, as well as others. What makes this thread so special is the sharing, support, and passion for Ichimoku (not to mention the very clear explanations). I really appreciate this! I have many questions, but as the Chinese say, "you have 2 eyes, 2 ears, but just one mouth-- so watch & listen more than you speak".

Hopefully, in the future I will be able to "give back", and make worthy contributions to this thread.

it is very nice from you and I already want to share more just waiting traders understanding the simple first
I know my ways is so strange from classical traders and also I use another setting 9,17,26
You can trade any time frame you want for me I trade 1M and it is very powerful "when you see triple sword collect pips "

What ever Chikou Span is the hunter which always search for weakness in kumo sen or kumo span to penetrate

Thank you for the indicator. I will keep it in my arsenal of Ichimoku tools to strip the banks - they have too much money doing nothing at all - It is better having some of that money in my account.

Thank you for the kind words. Ichimoku is really powerful once you get to know her(him) intimately. You can also use it to trade the highs and lows - one to two minutes(bars) in a trade and you're out - taking 1-3 pips at a time and waiting for that breakout moment when you take 10-20 pips. A bit time consuming but better than waiting hours for something to happen. Ichi provides you with the turning points in all time frames. - It is time to strip the banks of their money.

You're welcome. In actuality, I'm still studying the Ichimoku system in order to master it. It is, however, the best indicator system I've come across, and I believe we all can make money from it with the appropriate usage of it.

All the finer detail of Ichimoku - I still have so much to learn. Yes and there are lots of money available. We must just use Ichimoku wisely.

On another topic - Anyone know something about the Kumo shadows? I have heard of it mentioned on the Kumotrader Forum but cannot find anything anywhere else.

Look at this beauty below - It happens every now and then that you have a breakout of the 1M, 5M and 15 M at the same time.

There is a great free source of pdf books, document and other technical information available at the scribd site. Of course you will have to wade thru a bunch of junk there too, but I found a wealth of good reading material about the Ichimoku charting system there.

I don't want to make kumo shadows more complicated or more "mystical" than they really are. At the most basic level, kumo shadows are places where the senkou span A or B exhibits flattening. This may end up being an extended area of flattening (as in a "flat top/bottom kumo") or just a small "ridge" or "ledge" in an otherwise angled SSA or SSB.

To better understand why we take note of these flattened areas, we must remember what a flat area in any Ichimoku line means: EQUILIBRIUM. What does "equilibrium" mean when it comes to analyzing a chart? You guessed right - it means that price has "no trend" and we cannot detect a bullish or bearish bias in that particular area. This is much easier to see (and more significant) if the flattening is extended and easy to spot, but the smaller ridges in the kumo can also affect price. You know how price will tend to respect prior areas of congestion? This is the same concept with kumo shadows - they are areas where price ended up consolidating from the point of view of the senkou span A or senkou span B. If you want to understand this phenomenon in more detail, I would recommend revisiting the calcs behind the SSA and SSB and then dissect the kumo shadows on a given chart to see why the flattening occurred.

As far as how they affect price, we need to keep in mind that the kumo itself is time-shifted 26 periods AHEAD of current price action. Thus, kumo shadows that have formed in the "leading" kumo (that part of the kumo that is ahead of price action) can potentially affect CURRENT price action. You can see those type of kumo shadows in the chart I attached that are to the right of current price. These shadows can indeed affect price. As well, I have circled several instances of kumo shadows that are "behind" (to the left-hand side of) or under current price action. These too, can influence price, as you can see by the lines I drew across them and how price reacted to their presence.

In the end, kumo shadows are NOT as significant as most other Ichimoku structures. However, it is prudent to keep them in mind when looking at fine-tuning your entries, exits, stop-loss and take-profit points. Keep in mind that, as a general rule, the more pronounced the kumo shadow is, the more effect it can have on price.

I do not see this ideas before but I try MTF Kumos
and found this one you show is strong but you mess some sensitive in formation

by this way you will trade only the breakouts when happen at all 1M,5M,15M in same time
but with more understanding you can follow it on the intermediate time frame 5M
with searching for Double Sword "Katana"
Katana : is the Samurai Sword

check the GPB/GPY on 1H try to find breakouts
with the setting 9.17.26
maybe you find but you will find more breakouts on 5M for more than 80 Pips

What do you think about that : one normal Kumo with shift 26 and an another (shadow??) with no shift .
