how do you look for trades, sit and stair at screen? I find I sometimes feel obligated to trade on a day! think It is ok to go a couple of days without trading as you don't feel comfortable with the setups that day?

I guess if I'm trading the way I am and my risk reward ratio is 1:1 I only need 1 good trade per week to make 12% per month...

If I don't feel comfortable with an entrance, I don't enter, simply as that. I don't mind if I don't get any trades for the day (Monday and Tuesday I had 0 trades), as long as I'm only entering on trades that I feel has the best chance of winning. To me, no trade is better than a bad trade. =) I never force a trade just because I feel I must enter a trade for the day, you'll almost always end up losing that way. When did I learn to always stick with the rules and not break them unless there really is other indications that PA will go that direction? After I lost more than $25,000 combined, and really, you don't need to experience that as long as you're smart about the common things of being a trader. Don't ever feel obligated that you must trade each day, you'll just end up placing bad trades doing that. At least you're learning from your mistakes, so it's at least not a total waste.

you too lost money when you 1st start out? Seems like most traders have this problem. Me too was in big shit before I start to think and play it safe.

Stratman too was previously in difficult times but think he is quite successful in his trades now.

Like Ms pips said, you will have a higher chance of hitting your target if you aim at it.

Today, I had only 2 trades (during London Session) but missed quite a few opportunities in the US Session.

If you are using the SwissArmy histo, set it to alert you when
just the first row changes color. (Set EnableAlerts to true, Popup Alertrs to true , maxscore to 1 and
CountE1 to true, the rest of the CountEx to false)

Then when wait to see if you get an alarm when the color changes.
If it is late check the experts tab to see when it was recorded
as triggering. If it is recorded in the experts tab as triggering at the
same time as you see on screen but you don't get an alert then my guess is your MT4 is overloaded. Try it with only one chart open to test this.

In the example I am posting you can see that my alarm is triggering when
the first two rows change color, and you can see the Experts tab recording the time (one minute after the change because the alarm sounds at the open of the next bar.

Yup, the sad reality is that, most traders don't start to improve until they finally received their wakeup call and finally start to face the reality of trading, and that is, there are no such thing as easy money in this market, it takes a lot of time and hard work to make it.

Lots of marketing gimmick abt forex trading too ..... "trade forex if you want to be a millionaire ...."

My guess is that the real millionaire would be the course provider himself.

Yes, all without placing a single trade, just like all those so called million dollar maker EAs for sale all over the internet. If anyone actually believe the creator of those EAs use them on their own live account, they can keep dreaming. They make money by selling their money losing indicators/EAs, and not by actually using them themselves with trading. But are there very good EAs that actually make consistent profits? Of course, but you won't ever see them for sale as they are highly protected and kept secret within their own capital management group lol.

By the way, on a side note, the Dashboard really has helped me avoid a lot of bad trades this week, and also saw a lot of trade I would have entered based on that winning, but of course, when it's combined with my higher TF fibo and trendlines as confirmation. I'm starting to get a better feel of it now after watching PA with it for the past week. I'm going to start to actually place trades with it soon, after another week watching it and start developing rules for it then test it out some more.

I just checked my expert tab and my alert. The time differences is 15 mins late.
i.e. It shown up in the expert tab but alert not triggered. It is only triggered 15 mins latter.

Is it caused by the system being overloaded? I am monitoring 4 currency pairs. M1 and M5, that is 8 windows opened.

Hi Miss Pips! I've downloaded your zip file with your actual template chart. Thank you for sharing!

I saw that the MTF pivot indicator gives to me a different pivot levels, respect to my THV pivot indicators, that are set for my broker time, GMT+1.

Can your MTF pivot indicator posted in the zip be customized? I saw only a set for the period that was at D1 - 1440. Do I need to set correctly this pivot indicator or it does it automatically?

You can get an alert when fast trix is above/below
slow trix and both are the same color.
Mostly that is a trix cross but sometimes
it is when the trix already crossed, then
the fast trix changed color for a few bars
and then changed back in the direction
of the cross.

That is type 4

It's not my pivot indie - I just got in somewhere in FF.
My mt4 is GMT +1 and I observe that these pivots work.

If I remember correctly I also verified it agains the FXI
pivots that Acumen is using and they are the same
except this one provides weekly and monthy.

Also though I'm not using the current THV pivots,
in the previous version, if you used the regular (non-Fib)
pivots) they matched this indicator.


No idea how to adjust it or why it works as is on GMT+1 (if it aint broke dont fix it)

Hello MissPips,

I was trying your template coz I have similar ideas in mind about THV but I saw the Trix MTF colorHisto break the lines sometimes, it happens the same with the Trix MTF, I dont know if is for changing the hot parameter from 0.7 to 1.2. In all cases Im comparing the code of both indies with the code of the Trix version 5.0 and its quite different, at least its built in another way.

Some one ckecked this behaviour in Trix MFT too ?

Is it still a good entry if my entry is based on M5 (THV conditions are met), but M1 is in the oversold or overbought region? M5 is not oversold or overbought.

Right.

I recently had an email with a professional Poker player who wanted to enter in the FX game.

I told him that playing Poker is easy against FX trading as you have no rules, you can buy, sell, get credit (leverage) as you want and when you want.

That is too much freedom for many of the new traders which aren't customized to it and they need to find reasonable rules for themselfs, taking in account the equity and TF they wanna work with.

Even veterans of trading need to follow their rules, otherwise they will loose.

Never ever forget to take in account S&R levels !!!!!

Hello everyone

great work to Cobra and team and all who have contributed to this excellent system.

Ive just finished reading the thread (took a bloody long time) and would like to start by making a small contribution- Ive made sound files for the trix alerts for the currencies I trade, EURUSD, GBPUSD so that you can get distinguished alerts on these differnt pairs. All you need to do is put the files in the trix inputs on the appropriate currency chart. If you want to make your own sound files you can use this site

A few questions if someone wouldnt mind helping me:

1) Ive read that the trix can repaint does this occur on all the different trix or only the ones showing the higher timeframe?? What trix do not repaint?

2) Id like to get an alert when all trix on M1, M5 AND M15 are going the same way, is there a way to get this alert? So a soon as the M1 trix turns green and both the higher timeframes are also green for long I get an alert

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the THV4 Trix indicator.

Is there a secondary THV4 Trix v1.0 indicator for divergence? I have researched the thread
and have not been able to locate this indicator.

I am using the THV4 Trix v1.0 and I have set the divergence input but this only draws the
divergence lines on the main chart and not on the Trix chart (like the THV3 Trix v4.01 Div)

I like the look and new features of the version 4 Trix and was hoping that it would
have this option.
