Trouble With FXCM Servers

I have a micro account with them and have the same problem, can't log in real or demo. Fortunately I have no open positions, but a week ago I had the same problem with an open position and SL didn't work, the operation was closed with more losses. I was planning to open a STP account with them but with these problems surely I will search for another broker.

Jason I too am aware of these downtimes,and also a lot recently when I've been trying to place stops, the platform freezes up and I have to log out and log back in again. There are more tech "issues " with the platform in recent times, than I've noticed in the past. Do you know why this is happening?
Just tried to log on..still no luck.

Further information:

If you had trades that were negatively affected, please e-mail the details of those trades to [email protected], along with important details such as your account number, ticket number and order details.

I'm experiencing the same on MT4 FXCM-UK account ... I had a few duplicate and delayed trades on my account yesterday

I stand corrected! I probably wasnt logged-in at those times. I still cant complain because as Jason stated(and He hasnt lied to me yet) they will fix rotten trades. I will await the outcome(as will all their clients) because I have no other choice. I do admit though-if I had a larger open trade-I would have less patients. When the platform is fixed-those that have been negatively impacted should just do exactly what Jason has already stated- email them the trade specifics and await a verdict-this may take some time though as it seems this is a company wide problem today. BTW- Jan 10th was a Sunday here in the STATES-Jan 21 doesnt count-could be anything? Today is different story though.Jason will surely be earning his money today-lol.

Jason, I simply don't know why you guys at FXCM think that no news to your Customers is the best way to handle this. It's not! You are treating your Customers like dogs, and no one among us should tolerate it. We can not be hampered in our trading efforts this way.

Effective today, I too will start searching for anothe, more reliable and trustworthy broker.

I humbly beg to differ on this point. Here's the message that ATC Support sent to us on Jan 10th. It clearly states that FXCM turned off the servers:

Dear traders,

Issues at FXCM tonight have marked a rare event in terms of the seriousness they have encountered. ATC continues to remain in contact with FXCM periodically, while we are certain their technicians are doing all that's possible. They have elected to turn off access to execution until such time as they can resolve the issues.

Traders shoudl NOT continue to try to enter or modify positions on MT4, until such time as we can confirm trading has resumed. EA's should continue to remain Idle so they will not attempt to trade when price resumes.

ATC will announce further on ATC chat as we are able to.

I should hasten to add that ATC Brokers have always been right on the spot with the most informative and helpful information and support they could provide. Therefore, I fervently hope they will try to locate a different service provider and wean themselves off FXCM.

I have studied using fxcm demo for 4 years and have £40,000,000 to open an account with(dollar equivalent)I think I have my method sorted and have been profitable for a year, demoing. I was thinking of literally, next week opening a uk fxcm account, as you can hedge with that. I am now considering checking out oanda. These recent tech problems are just no good. I want my broker to act on my behalf in the fx market. Not someone who keeps saying "sorry I cant place any orders for you today, but I'm not telling you why not".

Hasnt affected me or my trading-I am an ex-Network Admin and "issues" are not uncommon- ATC are decent bunch over their and I am sure went above and beyond the call of duty to keep their clients "in the loop". Yeah I remember that, it was at the start of the Asian open, the severs were down for about four hours thus stopping any trading until 4 hours into the session. If your car has problems and you take it to a garage and ask them what's wrong, they don't just say " technical issues" They tell you what the problem is. If the car keeps breaking down, you get a different car.

I trade on a floor where people use trading station and MT4, MT4 accounts, demo and real are up and running. I just opened a demo and might move my account over. What the problem is would help, I hate leaving trades open over the weekend.

Cant blame any client for being "miffed". I am missing some profit but I now have faith where none existed before. My dealings with FXCM(and especially Jason) have been nothing but positive. Time to break out my old records(RUSH 2112-Allen Parsons iRobot) and wait for their techees to fix the problem?

Again we do apologize about this, and are working to get this resolved ASAP. Once I have more details, I will post that information.

And if you have any open trades that are negatively affected by this, you can request a trade audit by emailing [email protected] with the details for the trade. You can monitor price movements on the charts through DailyFX if need a reference for pricing.

Oh for Gods sake, what more can Jason say or do to appease you??? He has already stated that negatively affected trades will be sorted out.

I have a long EURUSD position, should have closed at 1.4174, now losing 20+ pips with it, but it will be sorted I know. Stop whining on about it.
