I don't trade this pair, but I can see your reasons given that it's at the bottom of the range it's been in since April but daily is under 200 SMA whereas A/J hasn't hit 200 SMA on daily yet and on my Jurik indicator chart the weekly has crossed down on E/J but it's crossed up on A/J. And there's hardly any swap. EUR is fundamentally weak at the moment and this risk aversion might go a little further than we think.

ForexLive were just saying "Nasty trading conditions prevail as USD/JPY fell to 89.88 in double-quick time. The session high around 90.40 should now be solid initial resistance, not much in the way of support until 89.00. Selling rallies the preferred strategy here."

I think I'll stick to A/J

My 1H not give sign to go long so far.

Good to see you too Thanks for those charts. Not sure when I'm going to dip my toe back into gold. I see PA pierced 200 SMA on daily USDX today. I wonder how far we are going to go this time

For a down trend, it sure seems to want to go up. This retrace came awfully quick.

double bottom forming on 30 min charts. if successful, ,takes us to ..9090-.9095. it seems though in this market, even typical reliable technical formations arent as trustworthy.

Hey Puks - it's sticking to the monthly pivot at 0.9010 likes flies on honey. We've done 297 pips so far this week. Asian indices red and US futures red. I've got monthly 76.4 fib at 89.42 and daily S1 at 0.8948. If 0.9040 is the top today, the chances of seeing 0.8940 look good. If that spike down was the bottom at 0.8982 then we could see 0.9070. As I said to Egkid, 200 SMA was pierced on daily USDX as well. I see from the calendar that there is no US news either. Not very helpful am I. I'm not buying though.

Well, don't forget about Japan's Intervention policy. That guy needs a page.

Well I hope you are right... I was off on that retraction at least from my original TP of about 7 PIP's. Right now, I would just like to see the other bottom.

But they might not step in until 85.00 79.78 (50% fib) on A/J is looking more and more likely to me with this PA. It's also my 34 EMA on weekly. I'm not up with what their "new" pain threshold is now - or is there one?
