Hi Plasma,

What configuration did you use to set up the double grids, so you have 2 total grids running on 1 currency? What kind of profit are you achieving using the 0.01 lots on 2 grids.

I initiate the 2nd grid when prices reaches between level 2&3 of the first grid.

Running 0.01 bags upto £5 per close depending on the way price moves through the levels. Its small but consistant.

So after level 2 triggers off you have atleast 2 orders and you initiate the next grid. Do you let each do its own thing or do you close out the first grid once the account is in profit? I'm wondering how this would try to get away from the high drawdown situations caused by whipsaws since in the first grid you may have accumulated many positions and a grid with 0.01 size lots being initiated too late wouldn't help.

i initiate the 2nd grid and leave the rest to the market.

i intervene if price reaches a ta level that i think wont be breached or mostly if after a number of closes the pivots of the two grids start to over lap.

Vipergrid and all the other Ea's I have tested 'buy' strength and sell weakness. So when the grid sets up the buys are on the top and the sells are on the bottom. Why can't the grid 'sell high' and 'buy low' with the take profit in the middle and the stop loss on the other side of the opposing trade? The trade could use cost averaging so it could reduce any dd.

I wish the Vipergrid would allow this reverse trade. All the buys would have to become sells and visa versa and TP and SL would have to be in the center changes to the program.

Possible? Would it work?

I think it is funny how most Ea's fail the same places on backtesting throughout the year. It seems theat the market throws out reverse signals at random throughout the year. These Ea's read a buy signal and they should have sold and visa versa.

Most Ea's I have tested fail to read the market signals at least some of the time. The 'some of the time' is enough to kill.

Vipergrid- I have had pretty good results with 1 level, 50 or 55 increment with a 0 risk on a 15 minute EUR/USD chart. It does pretty good through January 09, starts to have trouble after that.

Well... life sometimes demands time for some domains which one doesn't want/not interested in. I was into it end of the year and a week more. (dec end half & jan starting half are never good times to trade any way)
Just gone through the thread properly (still not in detail though), though i checked in few times before...leaving after seeing some trivial/repeat questions by 1post Id's (there have been many lately..)

I am really happy to know u r still with this EA and out till 2.6.1 (i think last one was 2.4/2.5 which i tested) and hope you will keep helping us.
I will check the latest edits and bug fixes in the latest one soon.
Meanwhile, i must say...i have tested this a few times more and working towards its proper and timed utilization.

There seems to some indi addons to this by some members, like iger (or its iegr..sorry forgot) for entry (that's what i read about imo) and its nice to know people are working towards good entries. IMO That's the very first thing we can do before we let this beast run & virtually the best thing to effectively learn for being successful with this EA(as discussed lot before)
I am yet to check and test what those addons are based on as "Momentum based Volatility" (NON-NEWS) is the key.

I would be posting regularly, i think. Hope to hear from you soon.

Both questions are logical but yes stupid now bcoz have been asked & answered before(esp. the first one)

1) This EA is time frame independent (Actually Grid size dependent)

Imploding an account doesn't mean, profits can't be made. That account doesn't have a good (so called/conventional) form of MM. That's all.
Profit is the basic aim for trading (Else if one needs a rising, real equity graph to rant about or sell an EA, where one shd not use this EA )
Regular or strategy based profit withdrawals is nice MM for this "IMPLODING" EA...and Yes , same ForexFlash once wrote about that, if you missed reading that before posting this 6th time.

This looks quite interesting. I have been trading live ROBOMINER which is a Grid Trading EA with huge drawdown, but always profitable.

I look forward to testing this EA on EURUSD, GBPUSD, GBPJPY and GBPCHF

Anyone here trading this live ?

Hi all,

I am new to this post and I have seen the 1st and last page. So if I am writing something already written, sorry. If I write something not useful, also forgive me.

I think this grid method is very interesting.

Assuming that the first touch was a buy and the setup is that of post in the first page, which was level increment 35pips three levels, then the worst case is that the 3rd level of buy is hit and turns down through the 3rd level of sell, which is quite a loss. Loss = (35+70+105)*2 (computing correct?).

No method is perfect, but we can minimise the catastrophic effects. The only problem with this method is what happens after the 3rd level is hit. Ok, then if it is the case, then if it is hit put the stop loss to the 1st or 2nd level. It is an idea.

Yes I think there is a problem here when using one or two levels. When using one level, the EA for some rezone, places 3 buys and one sell. If the 3 buys are trigger and then turn back it will not compensate resulting in a loss. The same happen with 2 levels

would you do me a fovour since i'm not a coder... would you plese tell me how to edit to make it able to trade only using one level and one post? and more efficient if the backup sell/buy order are double up using lot increasing lot size... please... thanks in advance..

I wanted to thank you for all the great work u have put in this EA so far. I am currently testing it on a 5 digit account and everything is working fine except ATR auto increments. It works fine on a 4 digit account. With the same settings and same day on a 4 digit account the increments are like 9 pips and on a 5 digit account its 53 pips.
I would appreciate if u can fix this on your next release. I am using ver 2.6.1
