I got this in an email from a buddy earlier today, talking about DB.

"Just as a possible other annoyance, I was trying to to demo them on go markets but it wont accept 0 as a stop when your using the hedging instead of stop option, is there a way to have hedging and say a stop of 1000 as a joke stop to keep the broker happy?"

In response, I added the input SillyHedgingStopLoss. This either needs to be set to the default zero to turn it off, or something silly like 10000 to confound silly-bugger crims like Go Markets.

If your crim doesn't faff about hedge trade stops, then you don't need the update.

It took me 4 years before I was able to trade/predict the market movements of the GBPJPY and USDJPY to near 80% accuracy.

My London boss used to say, when are you going to address this 20%.

I still dont know to this day if he was joking!

Agree 100% but still don't think this is a reason to 'dumb down' a robot.

There will always be lazy people & they will always lose money & they will always blame anyone but themselves .... 'tis the nature of things.

Dont even try to address the other 20%. People will stop going to Churches and other religious places and start worshipping you. That could make HIM mad you know!

At least, I will when I sort out my balls up in the DS robot thread. Ye Gods. I started out coding one robot, then realised I was coding a slightly different one. Then Bollocks intervened and I forgot what I was doing with the Bands robot. The I forgot I had forgotten and went ahead and posted anyway. I am just sorting this out now.

That wasn't a senior moment. It was a senior year.

And you guys still want my robots? You are all insane.

In fact, when Scoob first presented this idea, i was hoping you will see it and code an EA. Until last night (Malaysian time) i just got hold of someone who can code EA for free. In due respect to Scoob (and kind of worship him), that guy said i'm looking for suicide when he saw this strategy. In the back of my mind, my faith in Scoob still holds and maybe he didn't understand this strategy at all. Let's see what happen next, if he ever produce the EA. If he does, i'll post it up here for review.

At the cost of possibly having my head handed to me on a plate, can you tell me what I need to do to correct this error message? Aside from changing the Crims to 'true" and changing the magic number, shouldn't the simple entry method ea be pretty much plug & play? Am using ACM Demo..

it is not suicide.

Try it on a tight ranging pair like EURCHF and you will see that it works if you stick to the entry rules.

Tell your pal that it doesn't take genius to understand that the more OB/OS a pair is, the higher the lot size is that can be traded with reasonable safety.

Sadly, it is a tad difficult to know what to do when the platform refuses a trade then claims there was no error.

Mt4 is crap programmed by lunatics. Something we simply have to live with.

Edit: Steve, i still get that error message on invalid trade volume order of 0.09 lot after updating the EA, close the platform and restart the platform. I know you've spent valuable time on this, sorry to bother you again. Maybe i'll stick to it for some more time and see what happens....

Hello, All.

This is my first post to this thread. I am a long time member of Bluto's FXAW group, and I hope I don't get banned for this one.

I will admit that I have not read the entire thread, so here goes.

Have there been any efforts to set up some consistent organized testing of the original EA or any others? I would be more than willing to contribute, and I think it would be helpful to see regular data of what people are achieving with the bots.

One idea would be to ask for volunteers to commit to a particular bot and perhaps create a separate thread in which those results would be posted.

From what I have read, Scooby (amazing stuff btw!...you too Steve, thanks for all your contribution and work!) occaisionally will declare taking a buy or sell at the moment, and then reports back what he achieved. The results I read were fantastic. But I am wondering, Scoob, if you have a history of results that you can share (both good and bad)??

Again, I apologize in advance if this subject has already been covered.

Regarding the implementation of the SillyHedgingStopLoss (that some of us need to use because of our criminal partners (LOL - great phrase), I think the logic for calcuating the SL is incorrect and results in some of the errors we've seen:

The martingale type systems you see on ebay for 0.99 will ofcourse blow your accounts very quickly.

The one I put forward has very clear entries based on OB/OS in multiple timeframes.

Also, we only ever goto 3 levels and start with a relatively low starting lot size.

Having said this, nothing in forex (or anything else) is gauranteed as external factors such as earthquakes, political assinations, government scandal, interest rate changes etc will upset the apple cart at some point.

Anyway, try it on a demo account.
