Yep, broke my support @ 0.9210 so my next 2 are 0.9162 and 0.9092 to the downside.

The usdx has been trading around supports for over 48 hours now without breaking them. These supports match up with major monthly and quarterly supports. IMO this indicates accumulation before a major move up. I could be wrong about this though.

Australian dollar
US equities fell for the first time this year amid an assortment
of mildly bearish news. There was the expected reaction
to Alcoa’s earnings disappointment, a proposal to charge US banks
fees to recoup government bailout costs, and China’s earlier-thanexpected
raising of bank reserve requirements in a bid to cool lending
and potential inflation. The S&P500 fell 0.9%. The China news
was hurtful for commodities, copper off 2.6%, gold down 1.2%,
and crude oil falling 1.7%.

AUD traded lower pressured by a decline in risk sentiment and weaker equity market trade sparked by a report
that China raised its reserve requirement by 50bps points. The tightening of liquidity conditions in China
generates concern about the sustainability of the global recovery and may reduce demand for Australian exports.
The AUD was also pressured by report of much weaker than expected Australian housing data. Australia's
November housing finance declined by 5.6%, a 0.5% decline was expected. Australian economic data has been
mixed. Monday’s Australia reported strong ANZ jobs ads for December. Last week Australia reported strong retail
and vehicle sales. improvement in its trade deficit and rising building approvals. These reports suggest that the
Australian domestic economy has weathered recent RBA rate hikes and puts a February RBA rate hike back on
the radar screen. At the end of 2009 the AUD came under significant pressure partly due to diminished
speculation that the RBA would hike rates in February. Strong Australian economic data encourages speculation
that the RBA may hike rates in February. Focus turns to this week's release of Australian employment data.
On January 14th December unemployment will be released the unemployment rate is expected to fall by 0.1% to
5.6% from 5.7% with employment growth at 20k s compared to 31.2k is last month.
The technical outlook for the AUD is positive as the AUD holds above 9200. Expect AUD support at 9170 with
resistance at 9378 the November 17th high.

AUD/USD intraday: under pressure.


Pivot: 0.928

Preference: Short positions below 0.928 with targets @ 0.9125 & 0.9095 in extension.

Alternative scenario: Above 0.928 look for further upside with 0.9325 & 0.937 as targets.

Comment: the RSI is bearish and calls for further decline.

Anyone have any idea how one could of avoided this drop today? With the news out of China not being widely available. I guess Im lookng for some lesson to be learned. Albeit an expensive one. Any ideas? Just trying to get my monies worth out of this one...

See no changes for AUD/USD, still down - if patient, should see .87, I also see a good buying opportunity for UJ at 91

AUD/USD: Undermined By Drastic Shift In Mood Sydney, January 13: When the Asian market opened on Monday the AUD was bought aggressively following strong China trade data released on Sunday and evidence all around that investor risk appetite remained rock-solid despite the weaker than expected US jobs data on Friday. As the Asian market opens on Wednesday the mood has drastically changed. The move by China to increase bank reserve requirements has unnerved investors and Wall Street sold the "China-trade" as a result. Investor risk appetite has also taken a hit from the poor start to the earnings season starting with disappointing Alcoa results and a profit warning from Chevron. The S&P fell 1% and commodity prices swooned with copper falling over 3% and the CRB falling 1.7%. The AUD/USD fell around 1.0% on Tuesday - but the real damage was done to the AUD/JPY with the cross falling close to 2.4%.
Traders say there has been evidence of sovereign buying of the AUD/USD below 0.9200 that has helped to underpin and absorb the long-covering flows. Support today is found at the top of the daily ichimoku cloud at 0.9156 while hourly resistance has formed around 0.9215. A break above 0.9215 relieves some of the downward pressure and result in a drift towards 0.9250/60 where selling is tipped.

Well I live in Turkey and its almost 1AM here so i closed my shorts not to wake up for a disaster.
I would be mad if the pair falls down.
However it seems bearish at the moment.

the insiders can be very misleading... I had to return to the charts and forget the garbage they are peddling
it has been sideways for a while and then the breakout occurs I am holding a long at .9219 looking to salvage 20 pips
