I'm short too, 9165, bottom of yesterdays consolidation. Probably a good idea to sit on it and wait the news in less than 2 hours.

My TP was somewhere above 9050, but as I saw gold skyrockets thru the roof, I got out of AUD short with a loss.

I took profit on short Aussie couple of hrs ago, still shorting USDJPY(+110) ,and AUDJPY (+20) and of course ,an annoying Short EURUSD (-60)

I was long gold at 1121 but cleared at B/E just before the NFP release.

Now imagine if i had a position open...............bloody luck!!!

now I am shorting gold from 1133, aiming at 1130

I was long euro from 1.4270, long cable from 1.5980 but decided to close those positions with little profit or b/e before the NFP.

Ah well...

That's forex, that's life!!!

I opened SELL AUD/USD @0.9195 40 minutes ago..

Stop loss @0.9270

Target @0.9000

Hey Puks,
you did the right thing at that time, NFP is annoying to trade, it's better to close with small profit than seeing the profit going to red.
talking about gold, look at this chart, shorting for now is OK,however I have buy signal at hr chart, but watch R at 1140.45 you need to hedge above that level or at least watch Silver at the same time , that's more sensetive than gold to USD value

I've been trading only aud/usd, got no idea about trading gold on mt4 platform.
Can i ask how much equity do you need to have to trade gold?
let say if i want to trade 1.0 lot, at price $1130, do i need to have err 100,000x$1130 = $113,000,000?
Please dont mind this stupid question.

Why dont you try it on a demo at your platform first? to see what's the collateral (margin) needed to open a lot, in mine is $225.52 for a lot, if your account size is less than $5K, you better off trading o.1 as it makes huge moves some times and put you into truble

why got out? i still hold my position, and AUD/USD is going back down, it just i can not take a profitable long position right after the news release. long term view AUD/USD still going down.

yeah i know i could try on demo account, just cant be bother to call my broker and get me one. lol.
