Read the two threads from Jacko and James16. They are two of the most respected and experienced traders here. They are the "old timers" that you need. Those two threads give a tight overview of how to have good win trades. After reading their threads, then widen your reading. I am a member of both Jackos and James private groups and they are both good too.

I'm curious, you write you would join J16 and at the same time claim that Chris Lori's course is the best out there. Would you be willing to explain ? Is Lori's course only for total newbies ?

I did a weekend seminar with Chris which cost about the same as a whole year of j16 membership. I was a newbie and was not able to appreciate what chris was teaching so I left his course books gathering dust. I believed there was an easier way like all the system threads claimed so began holy grail chasing in this forum instead. That is why I wish I had joined j16 from the start and avoided such a costly waste of time. I hope that clears up your confusion. You can buy Chris's course for around $500 and I highly recommend it but j16 is ongoing mentorship. trading takes time and practice to master regardless of your education and its pretty tough going on your own.

babypips.com is a useful place to start.

The most useful forex related book ive read so far is probably 'Trade your way to financial freedom' its very popular and a great book to start with after demo testing for a while It should set you straight on quite a few things.

actionforex.com is good reading . Jacko and James16 are two respected senior members here for a reason. read both their threads. (There is a pdf of jackos method on his thread that makes it easier than trying to read all through the thread).They have been helping traders for a long time.
babypips.com is a good site for newbies.

the live pivot / sr levels on actionforex.com are very good and usefull to crosscheck with SR levels on any SR indicator you may have.
