Removing euphoria from winning trades?

While there were many discussion and opinions on dealing and handling despair from losing trades, how do one remove euphoria from winning trades? I'm trying to learn how to trade unemotionally but it's kinda challenging considering the stake that is involved.

I still get excited when I see green pips. No big deal. I quickly return to the mechanics of the trade. Stop moving, etc. It is just something you learn over time. I also don't look at my trading platform much. I keep the very bottom visible so I can be sure the connection is still there but I focus mostly on the charts.

yeah i turn off the P/L box on oanda sometimes.

I already trading with no leverage. I also took out the P/L box and show only profit in pips. But still it's hard not to get excited over it even though my pips are measure in cents

I'd recommend you to read Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. He coveres exactely that topic.

Try this. For the next 3 months every time you win a trade take the exact winning amount and immediately give it away. Give it to a charity or someone who really needs the money. It doesn't matter if it's $1 or $1,000, just give it away.

That'll take the joy out of winning.

Tips for controlling your emotions:

1. Trade at a size that you can handle.

2. Step away for a few minutes to clear your head and realize that if you let emotions take too much control, then you'll probably lose that money you just earned.

3. Win, and win often, so that you can get used to the feeling and understand your emotions.
