I 30000% agree with B here. For those trading during these times, just ask yourself if you are trading for the right reasons, or trading to be in it.

Only trade I've taken was a monthly setup, TF so long it virtually ignores the holidays

Other than that I've gotten my hands on Pring on Price Patterns today (a late Xmas present from me to me) so that should keep me occupied for a while.

4H doesn't work for me due to work so I stick with daily, weekly and even monthly. I suggest you do that as well - trading shouldn't be stressful like: I have to find a minute to check my charts.

Other than that, there are many much more qualified people here to answer questions regarding confluences etc.

May I suggest you try the long hard work I'm currently doing: go through the entire thread from post nr 1.
I'm approaching post 8000 and it takes time, but let me assure you it's worth it.

I was kind of doing this but I felt like I was taking up too many posts. In addition, my management and exits are tailored to my style of trading so I am not sure it would provide any benefit.

Also, I am not sure I would want anyone shadowing my trades for the same reason. If you ever want to email me privately I can give you examples of how I manage trades or updates while in trades. I only ask that you only demo those trades if you take the same trades. I cannot think of anything worse than taking someone elses trades and being at the mercy of how they manage it vs. knowing in advance what I would do - too stressful.

Hi, this is my firs post here even I am digging through it a couple of months...At first sorry abut crappy English...I am not still very good at it.
After saying "thank you" to all this golden field, I have a question or better issue to thing about and wanted to share with somebody.
I thinking a lot about issue I can not figure out...Jim says that newbies should stuck with 1D TF(that is great and I like that), but for me that means to stay up till 24:00 to see how "for ex. possible pin bar" closed...but with three kids and full time job, it's quite a challenge. I was thinking about jumping down to the 4H TF, but I don't feel good about it. I have no idea if there is something like end of European session bar close . I am from Slovakia...forgot to say ...Thank you for kind environment to grow in

Hi there.

If you use MT4 you can try another broker with different candle closing time. I'm not sure but I believe IBFX has the daily close at 23:00 (in Slovakia).

Isnīt it important when the open and close of a candle happens? I think that most of all for the daily timeframe it is very important because if you have different opens and closes you get other signals...

I actually have the same problem. My demo account goes with an european broker where I get different setupts than other ones in this forum.

Is is possibile to setup the open and close in MT4?

here, it says Slovakia is GMT + 1. correct?

here's a small list of brokers (different timezones).
u might wanna choose which broker u are comfortable with.

by the way, u dont have to watch charts & "wait for a pin bar to close".
u can set a price alarm & get u notified via text/SMS (cellphone) &/or email. i believe several here do this.

No, unfortunately not.

Shop around for a demo broker whose time settings work for you. I'm in Sweden and I find that a FXPro demo works well for me.

im not sure i understand u clearly here.
but u cannot setup/change the open and close in MT4. u can, on the other hand, pick an MT4 broker that u want to use.
i have a list of brokers on my post above.

Hi all yesterday was my first day demo(!) trading this real simple method and i have to say i LOVE this, almost no indicator sh** just watching (and laughing ) the price.
At least i found something that really applies to me and i would like to thank all people who made this thread that big and full of knowledge.

I read the first 100 Pages of this thread and watched all video's on the official J16 site (twice)
As is said this was the first day, watching the balance right now, i already banked 400 pips and got 270 floating.

Im in Love with my MT4 plattform right now, because watching the charts is fun again

i forgot: im trading daily & weekly (weekly is up 220 pips)

it's the holidays, so the charts are not 'normal', because of the low liquidity.
so dont expect price to behave (as it has this week/month) similarly in the succeeding months.

also, i hope with 'fun', u mean u are enjoying learning & not necessarily referring to the pips u've just won. u should expect ups & downs, in terms of emotions &/or profits/losses until the time u achieve consistency in your personal trading..

just trying to be realistic..

Thanks a lot, I will check it and pick the one that fits me best. Yes I know about possibility of using alters but if I get SMS when I am deep asleep that will not help me. But thanks for these brokers list one more

Thx for your reply, i know that price acts a bit weird on holidays, this is my 2nd christmas in trading

And thx for your advice, of course im talking of learning and the new
experience i got with PA.
I just wanted to piont out that my time of searching for a method/system that fitts my needs is no over.

looking at the attached chart, what would you say to this one ?

Its the EUR/CAD daily chart.
The last candle is today, so oyu could review it on your chart.
The PinBar is on a SwingLow.

Of course im long 10 pips above the PB (demo) SL is almost touched, what to do next ?
Close order and go short ?
*confused*

Do i miss anything ?

Hi Hova... this pin bar hasn't failed in my opinion. I'm currently long as well and if it fails... on to the next trade.

Also long NZD/USD on the 2 day pin bar... with added confidence from weekly pin bar. I'll be moving to BE and target set at just below .7300

I'm on demo.
