DislikedFirst of all, Merry Christmas to all here!
@ Scoobs:
I downloaded your EA for the brief time you had it on this thread - Yen Trading @ Forex Factory. It is doing very well, but it is making about $10 per basket on a $5k demo. So what this makes me think is that it is going to need a setting for the user to toggle either "standard account" or "mini account". (I know you want to keep the user settings to the absolute minimum, but in order to get the returns...Ignored
QuoteDislikedThe EA you refer too is not the one I have attached to my signature. The current one has optimised lot calulation based on AccountBalance and dynamic TP, OB and OS based on 3 different TF's.
I have also built in safety checks for potential CB and non BOJ interventions.
DislikedHello All,
I hope everyone is enjoying their Holidays, whichever you celebrate.
I am receiving an error on the chart of the 24 HR and the original bot as follows:
"The robot has been suspended. Reason: you need to enter the date of the next JPY public holiday."
After entering the date for the next holiday (2010.01.01 14:00), the EA appears to reset, but the error returns. I found that I had to restart the MT4 platform for the updated holiday to "take." Don't know if this is normal or not.

DislikedI stopped my EA from trading for the festive period.
Good luck all.

DislikedVery nice. Most trades were relatively quick to hit TP. However, two trades had drawdown of approx. 29% and 12%. Chances are good that backtesting would reveal even higher DD and possibly a margin call.
Is your strategy to simply sit through these drawdowns, hoping the trade will eventually come back?
Is there a plan to hedge the original basket until drawdown is significantly reduced?
Is there a plan to utilize a "basket SL"? If so, the poor R:R is going to be difficult to overcome, isn't it?Ignored
DislikedThe two trades you refer to are USDJPY which I have updated the EA to handle.
Also, a margin call would come at around the 80% mark, so it was never really in any danger as it was a tempoary devaluing of the Yen by central banks, again I have built in safety checks around this.
Dont forget that this strategy was adapted from a commercial one whereby margin calls/spreads/etc are not an issue compared to retail accounts.

Dislikedi'm not sure if it's just my settings, but ever since i updated to v2, the bot hasn't made a single trade. Does anyone else share my experience?Ignored
