Reading again the question, it actually needs more detail, but I prefer to rephrase it:

How can I use the information that Chinkou-Span is giving me in order to have safer entries? For example, in the next chart:

It can be seen how, in the first red circle, Chinkou goes below price action as well as Tenkan crossed down Kijun (and both are below the cloud), but Chinkou is still inside the cloud.... is this a risky entry?

In the case of the second red circle, when the Chinkou is crossing below the cloud, what "extra" information do we have right now about the price? Would you enter in the close of the candle that made Chinkou crossed down the cloud or would you wait for another signal?

I did not know the importance of the Chinkou Span, I thought it was a simple "reference" but with no importance, LOL.

Do you have like a "guide" or the ways you interpret and trade the crossovers of Tenkan, Kijun, Chinkou with a bearish/bullish Kumo? I ask this because looking in your blog , as well in all this thread, I have found several new ways (new for me) to look at price action with Ichimoku, but I feel they are so many that I get lost.

For me, Chikou-Span is the most important element in the whole Ichimoku System ... I wonder if you have had a chance to read one of my previously written articles on Chikou-Span http://www.ichi360.com/?p=491

I did not read that post before, Ichi360. Thanks for the analysis and the scan of Nicole Elliot's book; now I got the importance of Chinkou.

Lets see if 8667 provides some support otherwise we'l go down to 8545.

I'm shorting this pair from 9130 ...

I really Think Just dont Do Buy Now For Aus/usd if you have a sign of buying becoz Now the AU having Bear Momentum! signal On 4 hour chart we will see some sign of Bull Correction so but now the higher TF make this Correction from UP a little.. like we have seen December 8th On Eur/Usd , Then Top selling pressure on Eur But The dollar traded near the highest in more than three months versus the euro before a report forecast to show new home sales rose in the U.S., adding to signs of recovery in the world’s largest economy.

Hi, I'm new to this thread and have read the first few posts a few times , however I'm still unable to understand how this Ichimoku cloud system works, It would be greatly appreciated if someone can explain this to me in a step by step method ? How to go long or short , based on what ? and how to know where to set SL and TP ??? Thank you and I await your kind reply.
