How does you all feel about holding onto shorts for a while yet? and see if there will be any more push down?

Any thoughts on trading the US GDP figures tonight (AU time)?

I was considering opening another short in anticipation of a better than expected number however after the sharp AUD falls of the past 2 days I'm a little hesitant; if the number is better than forecast or even in line with expectations I think there could be a significant relief rally.

Thoughts?

The forecast is for a revision lower, so a surprise to the upside should give it a fairly good kick for the US dollar.

Going by how the markets have reacted with the previous few GDP reports, expecting some fairly violent swings both ways for the few mins right after the report before one direction gives way. Wouldn't be surprised if some long/short squeezing takes place prior to the a definitive direction is decided upon.

After some shades of grey to start this week, I am back beating the bear drum loudly again. looking for a gravity assisted ride unless a bounce over 8925 happens.

I added a fourth short @ .8815.

The way the USD has been neurotic regarding news I would stick to the technicals. News is not important, the reaction to news is.

sad to hear that bro... i already posted before that aud/usd is bound for retracement. i added short @8834 and my target will be on the first resistance, and second profit target is @8710. happy pipping!

look at it now , the last hope for it is around the 1070 level , if it couldnt make a proper rebound from there then its dead

Gold correlates to Aud most of the time, Aud is currently going down hill, Gold also can't avoid its part.

It's year end anyway, hedge funds are pumping money into usd to make sure they get more value out of their year end bonus. I'm sure we'll see a strong rebound after new year for gold, with the inflation issues going on and worse in 2010, there is no other direction for gold to run apart from up, we just need some news for gold, that's it.

i m shorting AUD as well with 85 as target , i left some options for shorting if it goes for minor rebound before going down
secondly about the gold , i think before the start of the new year and the end of the holiday seasons , the gold will be around 1050
i dont try to give long term forecasting cause its not for me and its always not accurate but if gold breaks the 1070 level , selling will be accelerated down , i wish i shorted it when it reached 1225 , it came across me the chart and i wanted to short it but i was worried about the predictions for 1300 so i backed up
shoudnt have let it go but thats the market
we always learn from mistakes , i m sure after couple of month and maybe the end of next year when it reaches this sky again i ll ride it from there
