Going to start trading the Cable again now, you've all convinced me, the spread is high for me though.
Just closed at 16 for +15 pips.
I would like to post my trading platform charts but I use Oanda, yes I know no comments please and the charts suck ass.
I thought it was a good close for Oanda too although they slipped me badly as per usual.lol.

im updating my trade AUDCAD , it is now 100 pip in profit , closing half and letting the trade continue with 100 pip trailing stop , until the market stop me .posting some trades like this is to show that the original way we used to trade ichi in this thread still pay out . and it is not broken to fix it .

Guys, just wanted to ask - at the 1H kumo breakout method do you move the Take Profit point (BE) with the Future span B (26 periods forward) or with theSpan B exactly over the price?

Thats an excellent trade, if you entered where I think you entered its perfect.
I hope that you don't think I am trying to fix this method, sorry if I sound defensive.
I trade the signals as per this thread and the Wiki but on a shorter time frame it seems much like you do on a longer one.
Ichi is the best trading method I have ever come across and it seems to work for a scalper like me following the rules as per the Wiki and for Vic using the same rules on 1hr and longer.
Sorry if you were not referring to me but if you were hopefully this will clear things up.
Ichi works like magic on lots of time frames and there is no need to mess with the rules, they work. Just watch for resistance with the Span and the Cloud.

I just covered my on-going short trade for Gold ... Guys, I would urge you to have a look at Commodities trading, its a great money out there specially with Gold and Crude Oil

way to go Samer, classic style ichimoku is always nice. it's just that there haven't been many of those lately, I think the brokers have read the first 10 pages and started screwing the signals to confuse the warriors

when the price reverses to hit the kumo it will hit the current not the future kumo, so it is logical to move your SL or TP with the current, on first look at the future kumo, I don't think it would be useful because as it reverses it will drag your SL back to the point of entry therefor taking most of your gain away.

Hi Ichi360, I believe you have your colors switched. the blue line is not kijun sen, it is Tenkan sen. do you normally exit on the candle close above Tenkan sen?

Thats right, its a typo on chart.

I basically look for the Price Weakness / Strength to get an idea whether or not it will break the Resistance / Support ... Sometimes I do enter/exit from Tenkan-Sen just like we do our normal Kijun-Sen Breakout Trades.

Yesterday we sent around a news piece to our paying members that talked about how maybe the excessive stimulus and bailout mentality is returning to the financial system the abnormal risk taking and irresponsible practices that sparked market failure, especially in Europe.
That makes us wonder whether the Morgan Stanley trio’s forecast for the ECB and Fed to move in tandem upon exit is a low probability bet. Based on hundreds of billions of euros in writedowns expected in 2010 and the fact that European banks dominate (as a percentage of assets) the global financial system, we seem to think the ECB may be a bit slower to its six-shooter than the Fed.
But when we make a statement like that – anything that attempts to play up the US as being in a less unfavorable position than one of its counterparts – we’re almost certainly reminded by our readers that the US owes a lot of money to China ... and China is going to stop buying US treasuries ... Zhou said such and such ... or whatever.
Ok, fine – I concede. The US is no model of fiscal discipline. Not by a long shot. But much of that is baked into the cake. And that in and of itself is part of the reason that the items we expect will impact Europe are not already baked into the cake.
Assuming we’re not cutting off our nose to spite our face, then the ECB will lag ... and so will the euro as we push through 2010.

I have followed this thread for several weeks because I believe that Ichimoku is not only the most complete, but also the only indicator that can be a system by its own, and you all guys have prooved that to me. Although I'm dedicating sometime to learn pure price action (candlestick patterns, shapes and velocity) with support, resistance, trendlines and fibonaccis, I want to mix that knowledge with the Ichimoku trading you are guys doing in this thread, because Im sure will give me much more confidence and information to my trading.

The reason why I began trading with price action, is because the information that I read in the web about how to use Ichimoku was not enough neither complete in order to fully understand it, so I had the hope that price action would help me in that goal. One of the things that I really like of this thread, is that several people in here use the shapes of the cloud as well of the Tenkan-Sen, Kijun-Sen and Chikou Span as pure price action, giving great entries at the beginning of big movements.... something that I have not found in the web and, of course, would like to learn.

As this thread is very very long, I have tried to follow the post of several traders in here, but I'm still confused with some of the ways all the Ichimoku's lines (mentioned above) can give stronger or weaker signals; so, I would like to ask you guys about them in order to understand them much better.

Another question: I have observed on this thread that, in order to enter very safe trades, you guys look for convergence of signals on several timeframes. This is what I have observed: for instance, if price is above the cloud (as well as the other lines) in 5M, 15M and 1H, you wait for a 4H candle to close above the cloud and then look for a clear entry in 5M in order to enter the trade.

Am I right on this? On which timeframes you look for convergence of signals? Do you look for the strongest signals on all timeframes or only in the timeframe you will open the trade?

Hmmm I'm not sure if I got your question well ... would love to answer it but needs some more details if possible please ...

Chikou-Span is essentially nothing but 1 period Simple Moving Average shifted 26 (as default settings, you can change it too if you want) periods back.


One of many Ichimoku Entry Strategies (yupps, its not just Tenkan-Sen / Kijun-Sen Crossover that you should be looking for if trading with Ichimoku) is the Chikou-Span crossover, look at the Red Circles I've highliighted on chart. These are areas you would have entered into Short Trades if you were applying this simple trading strategy ...


Can you count the Pips for your Profit/Loss from this chart ?
