I wonder if it is to remove such information that are in the right corner of the indicator Trix, is that I do not use those for anything.

windelevel, why don't you just ignore it?? otherwise, COBRA would have to program a different thing for each individuals..lol cheers

Nice graphs, who don't understand what is what after looking at those should change the biz, lol.

Ah, a bit about my rules. When I enter a trade based on the M1 confirmation, the only thing I look at on the M5 chart is its Trix for extra confirmation as explained earlier. I don't care what all other indicators said on the M5 chart, I only care about the Trix itself, that's why on my direction, I only state on the M5 chart, to just look at the M5 trix when entering based on the M1 confirmation, and on the M15 chart, to just look at the M15 trix when entering based on the M5 confirmation. Hope that clears everything.

Also, about the trix crossing the zero line, I don't care about that. On the THV manual itself, it was stated that rule is optional, and not one of the set rule for which you MUST follow, it is an optional rule. If it happens to do so however when I enter, then that's just another comfort thought for me, an "extra" confirmation.

Hello All,

I'm newish to the system - been using it for 3 weeks and my demo account is -ve!

I haven't been that consistent and realised that may be I had interptreted the rules incorrectly.

Can anyone confirm my understanding of the rules - thank you:


Entry:
Above Coral only long, below Coral only short
For long - The price must be above the Coral. The candlestick must be green? It does not matter if the part of the candle is below the coral? It does not matter if the Coral is red?

For short - The price must be below the Coral. The candlestick must be red? It does not matter if the part of the candle is above the coral? It does not matter if the Coral is green?

Are there any guidelines as to how strong the price is above/below the Coral? e.g.:
- if the candle must be the stick or the wick or does it not matter?
- if the candle has just gone above/below the Coral or one or two increasing/deacreaing candlesticks?
- should a very long wick be avoided?


Price crosses cloud
For long - The price must be above the Cloud. The candlestick must be green? It does not matter if the part of the candle is below/in the Cloud? Should the Coral be above the Cloud?

For short - The price must be below the Cloud. The candlestick must be red? It does not matter if the part of the candle is above/in the Cloud? Should the Coral be below the Cloud?

Again, are there any guidelines as to how strong the price is above/below the Cloud? e.g.:
- if the candle must be the stick or the wick or does it not matter?
- if the candle has just gone above/below the Cloud or one or two increasing/decreasing candlesticks?

- both Trix cross each other and have the same color.
For long, both should be green and the fasttrix crosses slow in upward direction
For short, both should be red and the fasttrix crosses slow in downward direction

Are there any guidelines as to if they should have just crossed each other or not?

Sometimes I have seen that the fast trix crosses very steeply - any thoughts on this?

Best and most secure trend confirmation is a cross of the fast Trix on the zero level.
Does this mean that the crossover must take place near the zero level or can it have happened a liitle before and then the fast trix reaches the zero?


Sorry I guess some of these are basic questions and I appreciate that they are not so black and white - as the answer may depend on a combination of things. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

I've also loads more questions around news, diff ccy pairs, time frames and confirmation against longer/shorter time frames, stop losses, take profits etc but I will leave these for another time!

I have also been practising with THV system although im a charter. I cant open the manual, its some sort of php file. Maybe i sound noobish but shouldnt .php file be opened by a browser? As a code IE browser should be able to open it...

Also, if the THV indicated for example BUY OB does it mean that we should sell it immediately because the currency is overbought? I have been using CCI so far...

Entry:

Conservative: for long, PA above the coral, for short, PA below the coral.
Aggressive (require good skills): entry without considering the coral.

Japanese candelsticks may be bearish/bullish anyway (some times you get a little retracement at the moment of the entry).It is better to have a good HA candlestick in your direction (or at least in the immediately higher TF). If you want consider the coral, take an entry on a candle that opens above/below the coral. Its color depends from its angulation on the chart, personally I do not take care of its color but only of the context around it (but it maybe be useful to share a possible change in trend/PA general movement...)

Price crosses cloud


For the candlestick color, same consideration as for the entry rule. If you want to make an instant entry does not matter if part of the candle is inside/partly outside the cloud. If you consider the coral, consider it as in relation with the PA. Perfect conditions are for long coral below cloud and below PA and viceversa for short, but not always is that way, it is not an absolute rule (in my vision)… what is important is the actual context of the chart in this TF and in the other adiacent TFs. For the candles, same consideratios as for the entry rule. Consider the cloud as a resistence that has to be broken or used as support.

Trix cross and same color for both


This is the entry rule for the TF you use as entry referement. Security entry is after the confirmation of the trix cross (close of candle). Watch the chart; look for good angulation between the fast/slow trix when have the cross (see Miss Pips recent discussion on this). Bigger angulation is better.

Zero level trix cross


Not an absolute rule; it is better if it has crossed. Some crosses very far from the zero level may be retracements or starting divergences, but not at all. You may use this rule to evaluate better the entry. Consider the context of the market. Steeply crosses may they be because of news or strong impuls; do not use only this observation to decide to enter or not.



For entries on m1, search for confirmation on m5 at least; for m5 refer to m15 and always refer to the CONTEXT of the chart (trend, pivots, H/L levels, recent min/max, correlated cross pairs, day time, volatility, news, ADR etc……..). Do not enter on OB/OS, or divergence. Consider the trix cross direction in the higher TF and its color. Use THV when you have breakouts, bounces, big retracement or good volatility.

Im thinking the overal trend could of been going down making it a risky trade

maybe it help for You, but I feel more comfortable (also it's more conservative), when I see that 5 min cloud also in same color as 1 min cloud, also in Your situation, PA retest 30min coral, and of course main trend is down, for reverse trade need more better signal

Correct me if Im wrong, but i notice that alot of your entries are close to the coral, care to elaborate ?
Look at something long enough, you will eventually get it.

Overall, it's correct from what I see on your chart, and loses will happen. Trades in which that was taken against the overall PA is also more risky, but I most likely would have taken that trade as well since M5 just also crossed up from being oversold and take the chance.

The point of me testing this is to see if I can still produce consistent profit, while staying very close to the simple THV rules that are posted on the first post and on the THV manual, and not add a lot of different indicators, MA lines, and complex rules what most people here I see ended up doing. I want to make it so it's still very simple for any trader, new or old to follow. So to help filter out some false entries, I added the Laguerre RSI and added few rules, but not too much to over complicate things for the newer traders, most are very common sense rules. Overall, it might have more bad trades than ones who does a lot of chart study/drawing all the way up to the 4 hour chart and really pick their trades, but my point is to try to just keep the rules simple, and at the end of month to still be in profit, and keep doing so after each and every month. If that stays true, then to me it's a great success.

To tell you the truth, from what I've seen here, I don't know of anyone who only trades based only and purely on the rules stated on the first page of this thread and the manual, those very simple, no over thinking rules (the reason why I was drawn to THV in the first place), so I can't even tell what the actual trade performance might be anymore if THV is still only being traded as it was first meant to be, either because most don't trade it that way, or they just never post anything about it for ones that do. While mine also has more rules than that of the original rules, and 1 extra indicator, I want to at least keep it as close to the original as possible.

It's impossible to win all the trades or every single day, but if we can win most of them, then we should be successful as long as MM is under control.
