Geez, man.... doctors can be a real pain in the A%$, sometimes.... I know it for sure...

....we are conditioned at University (in the wrong way, IMHO) to see statistics and probabilities everywhere.... (man, Medicine is FAR from beeing an exact science)... that's OK when you are figuring out your technical decisions, but, no, THAT's NOT OK when you are dealing with people's feelings, fears and emotions.... That's when most of us, doctors, forget to switch the "strictly rational mode" off and turn the "human mode" on...

What I quoted above is the most important thing at this moment... Forget about all the rest!

Wish you and your family all the best, from the bottom of my heart! Remember that this kid is so precious, no matter how the results come. He/she will always be your kid, and he/she is going to be loved unconditionally.... that's what matters!

My partner is a biochemist so she is familiar with what you are talking about and yes, she gave me/us several examples of these tests being unhelpful and said 2 weeks wait is ridiculous but thinks the tests are expensive/labour intensive.

Take it easy. Be strong. I know you will.

Sorry to hear about this completely unnecessary mental torture as the tests you talk about are not 100% conclusive. Besides, they only show "increased risks", not the end result.
In reality, you won't know for sure how healthy he or she will be until your child is born.

As a scientist and atheist I can't send you any prayers, but I wish you more competent and sincerely caring doctors in the future, and I hope that medical science will find a solution should your child needs one.

I do respect your strong and caring attitude towards accepting any challenge, and I truly wish that you won't have to demonstrate it.

I just don't have the energy to reply one-by-one.

Been some stressful days and, for the good or worst, it all ends tomorrow and I will know what to do next. Just hope the lab won't torture us with any other unhuman mistake.

Physically I feel like a Panzer tank has hit me - well, us.. well, our entire house. didn't even find the joy about the brand new fridge we've got, hell yeah, it has beer can dispensers, lov'ya fridge designers...

Need to get some rest. Back tomora morning, another hard day to face.

I don't post here at ff all that often, but seeing your post, Caesar, has compelled me to say something. I just wanted to wish your wife and yourself the best. Not trying to downplay anything, but in my industry you encounter the occasional special person and to be honest with you, I generally find myself quite envious of their situation. Almost always they have just a real nice disposition and seem happy 24/7. Doesn't seem too bad compared to everyone else who has to live the grind and have their problems and worries wear them down week after week. No matter what happens, your child will be a great blessing.

Cesar, I don't know you, but in communicating with another poster on here who lives in south Florida also, they told me about this great thread you created where everyone is free to talk about anything besides Forex. I see you are in the midst of a difficult situation and I would also like to pass along my best wishes. I believe everything happens for a reason. Take care and look forward to future posts on here.
