I second that - only confuses matters
Its what Feb and FX have warned against - if trading isn't working out as expected DON'T start using anothert system - stick to the plan!

Agreed.
Taking the trade before the breakout is just gambling as well as contrary to the threads directions

maybe if I keep rambling it will encourage him to come back!

I miss him alot and would love him to give me a damn good kicking

understand if people want me shut up with any off plan stuff

just last couple of days have been tough and the pullback approach has helped

This is where discipline comes in. You will never gain confidence in your trading if you start second-guessing the strategy. You just have to stick it out.
Better not trade if the picture is unclear than chase the market in pursuit of pips.

I agree with you here guys....

1. If you wait for a 123 formation after the breakout of the range, it could be ok, but then, you need to wait till the new HH is hitted again + 2, 3 pips + spread, otherwise you would be forcing the future because we never know what price is gonna do when it is retracing...

2. You have to know as well that Price could break in anger for xxxxx pips before giving 123 formation, so is up to you the choice to be taken...
Remember as well, that for the BB breakout you have #2G+ to protect you is case a nasty fake with only a little damage....

Pushed thru the HH nicely, stop to 1.4765, locking in +10, will be +2 for the day if stopped out and done for the week. Happy trading all

Waiting for 123 after a wide and especially long bracket is a smart idea in my opinion. And it is according to the plan. If the brakeout does not give you retrace for a long time I would only look for a FCR to the other side.

But I will not wait for 123 when the bracket is narrow. BB entry is a must.

Can anyone explain if the ranging we've currently seeing normally occurs at this time of year? If so, when in the New Year can we expect the market to get back to normal?

The novelty of sitting on my hands is starting to wear a bit thin...as are my hands!

Short entry 1.4747 stopped out at brakeeven.

If I had a dime for every pip I left on table this week

Have to stick to the plan though, its just another playing with my mind game market is trying to do.

I guess this is the BLOOD part of the movie title, Mac?

As I understand it for there to be committed movement there have to be big players around to defeat the opposition who want the price to go in the other direction. The whole thing is designed to take your money - because that makes profit for the guys who get their way and who make the big bucks. Feb calls 'em the sharks - no sharks, no momentum. We are swimming with the sharks...but where are they????? - oooohhhh, Scarey Mary - so all this dickering around with the price is somebody elses' game plan. But the big guns can go elsewhere in December sometimes and leave us holding the shop - shopping, champagne, gold.

Run hunters need momentum... when there isn't any, or the chop monster breathes fire from his cave...maybe time to write your Christmas cards before you lose all manual sensation, or dance with death using all the power of the System II tools to exercise your muscles and hope someone hits a big button.


Just my view...from Starbucks....mmmm....latte...and panini....and a rather nice blonde woman struggling with her computer....back in a minute...
