another training chart...a clear move and a nice retracement , can you see it? Do you imagine where we set our sell stop? Today is Friday and off course we don't place any trades today but if it happens in the trading week you know what we have to do, don't you? ....

Only for training purposes...not come up with the idea to place an order over the weekend

Always a pleasure, Juri! Yes I'll be around for a little while, then go back to my cave. Health wise I had a rough year but I survived. I've seen your post here, some sort of a journal. I am glad this thread has been useful to you. I open another thread on trading discussions section. Feel free to come by or if you have any questions , let me know.
Peace

Good day, traders!

I know this is after a fact...

A nice push on G/U this morning. Let's see could it move more.

Like Juri says - this is for training purposes.

EDIT
Well, this one did reach at least 1:1 RR before reversing.

Hello Juri!

I am here from time to time. Glad to see you like this trading method. I can see what you look for by adding EMA's - to see current short-term trend. This method is about catching short-term trend after the first pullback and ride the rest of move. What I do for filtering my trades - I look at shape of the pullback. At first - as Feb said - the pullback has not to be more than 50% of the swing move. Then - I look for pullbacks which are even less than 50%, may be 20-30% of the swing move. Then I look how much time the market spend for the pullback. If the trend have to be strong the market would not spend too much time in the pullback. Then I look for V formations in pullback, not just price congestion...
These are the things I look for to open my trade. Everything just price based. I can see sometimes the pullback with no such conditions after which the strong move goes. It happens. But I still would try to open trades with the conditions which I described above. By doing this the trader is getting closer to tape-reading traders. They rely just only on price.
I would pay my attention for choosing the trading pair too. The more "trendy" the pair is the more easy to trade it. It becomes almost "no brainer" trading. You just place your orders and the market does the rest. Last days it works well at 1 min. time frame too. The market gives 2:1 risk-reward pretty often.

Hope it helps!

Try to catch "trends" by this method at Gbp/Usd pair at 1 min. time frame. It works very well.

The "secret" of this method as I see it is MOVING PRICE. If the market moves up or down - you will have positive bottom line. If the pair is choppy - it would be very hard to get some positive trades.

{quote} I am no sure what you're looking for but I'll do my best In terms of the swing, they have to be formed already with 30-40 pips and the pullback has to be on it's way before you start placing a stop order The "pattern" as you said, has to be formed already. Peace.

Awesome strategy. I never thought of it this way (as simple as it sounds! Geez).. I would always try to catch the reversal play (wayyyy harder to do)... Great thread...
