they are super tiny on my screen and the currency names are in a light blue.... is there a way to make them larger?

Yesterday evening I jumped on to a short in GJ as soon as the signal is received and landed up 60 pip DD but closed with good profit today

The best way to do when you receive the signal is to wait for the
retracement or to place the short when the bid ratio improves

Say for eg you are receving the signal when G overall strenth is say less than 2 and J is 8 and the bid ratio on GJ is say 3 to 4 %. let the
bid ratio improves say may be to 25 % and place the short in a situation
where the volumes are low

I'm trying to find the best parameters for SL and TP...

I'm trying with 20 SL and 40 TP but I'm noticing that I'm stopped out frequently...
Sometimes when a signal appears...there is a retrace...and sometimes there is not...I think I have to try a 30 SL and 60 TP... I'm pointing to a 1:2 risk/reward...

I think I fixed my excel file to record the times when we get a different signal. I had all kinds of problems with it because if my feed was temporarily cut off I it would blow up. However, I think I have the proper error handler in there now to keep that from happening and ruining the data collection. If it works, I should have some data moving forward to share with everyone.

Again, the purpose of this data collection is so I can allow it to run all day and tell me when the BUY and SELL signals come up, then go back to the charts and plot a vertical line when they occurred and look at what happened. I simply do not have time to watch all this live during the day and night.

For what its worth, I believe this is how I will use this tool. This is my opinion BEFORE having a week of data to look through:

I believe this tool will point me at the pairs that I want to be trading. Since I am a big fan of trading with the trend, this tool will help point out which pairs are not only trending, but which pairs are trending the best across the board average wise.

So my guess is that this will simply tell me which charts to keep an eye on for entries.

Hi,

I hope everyone is making profits using the FX Grail excel file. I have downloaded the excel file but when i open the file and enable updates, my excel 2007 program will not respond or hang. Therefore i can't use this. Maybe i have to uninstall my excel.

I am using the FX4caster but it doesn't have the Buy or Sell signal like the excel file posted. However, i still use it to trade the strongest currency against the weakest. Yesterday, i made some nice pips in selling GBP/JPY, selling CAD/JPY and CHF/JPY. I hope u guys make profits too.

Nice t0 hear that your making some pips without the excel file. Hope you enabled the excel file under security warning to receive the data and also the dd derver. If you have already done that may be you may have to reinstall the excel

The zip contains two files the forexgrail2007 is a excel 2007 workbook, it may or may not open with other versions forexgrail 2 is a 2003 excel file but not all features may work as I made the edits in 2007. If I made any mistakes let me know as I haven't really tested it yet, just changed values in the total strength to make sure.

Made some updates, download forexgrail2.2 also includes the original...

Thanks I only edited it though, didn't create it. Someone in here is already forward testing it and recording the time vs. signal. Its hard to show a timeline as the data is analyzed live rather then through history/leaving a history. I believe the person testing it said that its already eating up his CPU. There is a mt4 indicator in here that charts the strength which you could use to determine time, but I havent compared it to the excel file.

The Xmeter Indy is giving me the exact same values of the xls file...

I'm using the indy at the moment...is less invasive...it has not the buy/sell signals...but is simple to find the signals visually...when a currency goes to the top of the strenght range...and another goes to the bottom of the range..

Today was a good day..

I've been stopped out on CADJPY at my 20 pips stoploss, but made 2 good trades, on AUDJPY +45 pips and GBPJPY + 24 pips.... also CADJPY could be a win of 50/100 pips...if my stoploss was 30 pips...
So starting from today I will try a SL of 30 pips and TP of 60 pips...

I mean the one that shows history as well, relstrength. It has multiple lines, one for each currency. I just wasnt sure how it got those values (if it followed the excel sheet or not). It would be nice to see the formulas from the excel sheet adapted to a mt4 indicator that could show overall strength rather then spot strength.

I have been experimenting FX trading on demo for 12 months and must have tried at least 100 different trading systems, some with small success but non with long term prospects.
I was lucky to discover this thread before it was moved from Trading Systems, as this is the only section I visit it on a daily basis.
Although its early days I am happy to report that after 2 1/2 days trading with this system I have accumulated 550 pips on 22 positions with no losses and if I had been braver or had a better exit strategy I would have gained even better results.
I would commend this system to others as it is simple and illustrates the basic fundamentals of why markets should move in a certain direction.
Thank you HARIGP for starting this thread it’s a great system which after trying it to the end of the year will enable me, if still performing at this level, to go live in January.

Sell signal on USDJPY some minutes ago...I'm in and up 10 pips for now..

Sl 30 pips

TP 60 pips

I will move my stop to breakeven at 30 pips gain

Unlucky trade....

Price went to + 33 pips but i was not at the monitor...
Then retraced and hit the 30pips Stoploss....

I'm now long AUDUSD after the buy signal...


I've found on another forum an EA that works with xMeter...so it does exactly what we are doing here...I will test it..
