I think we are going to see some US$ strength going into Xmas/NY based on the USDX chart. I don't think a test of 78.00 is out of the question. Profit taking, agitated central banks, over-extended yearly ranges are a few of my reasons as well.

yes im concern about the jap intervention and their second stimulus and cnbc analyst said the jap will sell the US treasury they hold to fund the stimulus, so the bond will fall and us dollar will rise, also the chart(usd index) seems like already give an early signal

playing eur/yen short also look very nice on hourly chart right now with stop at 133.60 and gbp/usd short too.

I was expecting to see US$ strength a couple of weeks ago when we had that bullish engulfing but it seemed like the market wanted to test the highs again and suck in more longs. I see Lloyds TSB were sucked into a long at 1.5138 on EUR (good thing I don't follow their signals).

I'm long term bearish on US$ but I think it's needs a little reprieve. How much strength we will see and for how long, I don't know. Just long enough to make us little guys believe the US$ is rising from the ashes I think and suck us in short We've also got Benny speaking today and a few auctions this week. NFP also showed me which way the market was looking - a few years back, the reaction to NFP usually played out for the month but I haven't been checking on the correlation lately so can't give any figures on this.

Yep, here's the daily USDX. We are above 50 MA and we haven't been above it since April this year with supportive RSI and bullish divergence. Well that's what I'm seeing anyway.
