I've got the fib on my chart too. Price is still hanging around the area and all the way down to the 5m, price found support on the 55ema (welshguy2000 trick) so let's see what unfolds.

Really all this speculating is fun but I am still making my money from breakouts of higher highs and lower lows, I usually only try to pick tops and bottoms with about 10% of profits and limit risk real quick.

Let's face it, could have spent all day trying to pick moves, or just put orders at the Tokyo range (which I posted levels for earlier, see red and green breakout lines)...and see what happens:

Point taken, I will pay more attention to Tokyo as NY hasn't mattered much for some time. IMHO. There may be a channel down on 4hr(kiwi) which means continuation but that is still developing. The 8ema on 30m has held so far and I am watching the current 1hr to see if the 8ema shows support there as well. I am babbling a bit....need coffee.

Good luck bro, already got my daily pips locked in. 1am (Melb time) close is the last bar I trade until Tokyo open.

I will bother trading NY when the other two sessions stop making me money

Just so nobody thinks I'm a permabear - I know I posted a lot about the NR4+IB breakout - here is my daily EW count (which AFAIK is accurate) with a bullish bias.

After 5 impulsive waves up we had a classic a-b-c correction (c wave predicted by NR4+IB breakout. New impulse trend generally decided after corrective wave (G/U has already begun wave1 up-2down-3 up by my count) and with strong demand from the first retrace zone going into the monthly end, could be a bullish sign of wave 1 up for new impulse trend beginning. If I was long NZDUSD instead of AUD today, I would definitely be holding onto those positions!

Ive been doing well on my long position and foolishly tried to sell on the peaks which hasnt worked for me, Ive re entered a long position though. I think with the interest rates and commodity based economy this should go up for today atleast

It's done over 150 pips today. I'd be a little surprised if it manages to eek out any more gains today. Gold touched $1,200 finally.

No, the range for the day has been over 150 pips. I only caught a few of them Average true range for the last 30 days has been 144 pips so I think it's had it's fill for the moment.

Yeah its tanking and im in long for a substantial amount of my account :| Isnt the new rate being announced tonight though? I would expect that to give the AUD quite a boost.

No, rate announcement was last night (or early this morning - depending on where you are in the world). They lifted it. Check the FF calendar on home page. If you go back quite a few pages, we were discussing this rate announcement last night.

It's a good idea to keep track of the daily range. I personally wouldn't enter a long position now that London has closed and because it's done over 150 pips today but the market may surprise and keep going up - you never know - but the chances are less.

I'm not expecting to short with current PA unless I'm going for a quick scalp. PA is above all my moving averages on 4 hour chart and it has room to run. Average weekly range is approx. 300 pips. Low for the week has been 0.9095 so it could potentially go to 0.9400. This is barring any risk aversion/unexpected announcements e.g. Dubai. But it's ADP tomorrow, ECB rate announcement on Thursday and NFP on Friday so anything can happen.

I would expect some retracement though because it's done over 150 pips today.
