Here is where I would place my stop loss, even though I am beyond the event that got me in the trade, the round number will act as a resistance and in case it over shoots it a little I place it a few pips above that round number...

So feel free to comment on this sytem and post your input, and discuss it ask questions in case I missed something or you dont understand something I will try and clear it up. I still need to talk about targets however and I will show some charts on how I set them.

Like I say the system is incredibly simple and extremely effective and it always keeps your risks low because you are looking for low risk high probabilty trades with very little drawdown in case things do go the wrong way and there are times when they will. But there will always be very little at risk. And even if the market does back up on you there will probabaly be a second chance at the same setup. Always make sure you know where those round numbers are because they are HUGE S/R lines. And know the ADR if intraday trading to make sure you have enough room for the trade.

I noticed a lot of the threads are inaactive too, and some of the trend trading threads really do not like you to post much at all so I was asked what my system was so I started this thread, I hope everyone makes a ton of money on it, it has treated me well over the years...

Huy Guys,
Here is an ADR indicator that I found on the web, looking at the previous 10 day range it very closely matches the indicator I am using, the indicator I am using is copyrighted so I cannot upload it but this indicator will give the same results and a little more information.

Hi guys,
I thought I would post the setups I am watching for the Monday 11/30/2009 trading session, I am seeing alot of strength in most of the yen crosses, those are the ones I have put on my watch list, of course I will only trade one of the yen crosses at a time, and also I am looking for a breakout to upside on E/U, and looking for a long entry there. If it breaks to the down side then I will scrap that set up all together SO I thought I would post and show you what I am seeing, comments welcome!!

All of the charts I am posting are in Metatrader, as that is what I am using for my charting platform, however my trades are on another platform but I will post any trade I take on FXtrading station on the metatrader platform as well.

Hi great thread. I am also using a very similar system. It would be so nice to colloborate with you and trade together as we could all help each other to confirm the entry, trend, SL, TP, etc.

I have found this system combined with a good 4H breakout strategy could possibly profit the skilled trader 300-1000 pips a day.

I believe strongly is we all work together we could do the same together.

I will post charts on Monday.

I am currently watching the reversal head and sholders pattern on the GBPUSD 15 min chrt.

Will you confirm that the price action as broken the downtrend to the upside at RN round number 1.6400 which I consider (1) in your Breakout, friday we say (2) Pullback at RN round number 1.6500 with a possible continuation (3) to 1.6700.

This would also confirm your EURUSD uptrend breakout which could follow the GBPUSD up.

Also regarding the EURUSD on friday we saw the downtrend broken from the low at 1.4830. The breakout (1) to the upside was at RN round number 1.4900. The pullback (2) was at RN 1.4990 just ten pips from 1.6500. The next continuation (3) could happen sunday night/monday up to 1.5100.

I use bands with the MA system as well.
Both the GBPUSD and EURUSD show a tight squeeze forming on the 15m.

The last candle on the daily chart fot both pairs closed as a Red Hammer, indicating that the downtrend reversal is highly like to be forming.

The same price action described above is seen on the USDJPY, AUDUSD, EURJPY, GBPJPY, GBPCHF, EURUSD, and GBPUSD. As well AS the US Dow Jones Index DJI.

Monday trend for these pairs are pointing UP... IMHO

Withe average volatilty ATR(439 pips per day) on GBPJPY for the past 14 days I would say that this week traders could capture 300+ pips a day trading this pair using the MA system you have describe in this thread.


Now for the otherside....

EURCHF, USDCAD, USDCHF, EURGBP, and EURAUD, all had the exact same atterns but in the OPPOSITE directions as that described above.

Daily candles all closed with price being driven down and the uptrend broken to the downside 1-2-3.

All indicators point DOWN for these pairs on Monday at least although anything is possible for the week.

If we were all to trade these 12 pairs with a goal of 30-100 pips TP

That would total 360 -1000 pips each day for the group.

It would take a group effort in my opinion where we work each to confirm the trend, entry, TP and SL.

What do you think?

Also do you have any ATR strategy that would go along with the 1-2-3 strategy?

I was also looking at that GBPUSD pair, look at hourly chart and the same H n S formation has formed, Which is one of the reasons I do not really have that one on my watch list, however it could still go.

And there are quite a few pairs out there right now that look good, the ones I put on my watch list were the ones that looked like they could go over the next session. But I totally agree with you there could be a lot of pips to be taken this week if these setups hold.

I am always looking for the low risk High probability trades, if any of these decide to go the wrong way then I will just wait on the sidelines and wait for them to get organized again. The E/U pair did quite a retracement but if you look at the daily trend line it bounced right where it should have, now we just need to get going, I am thinking if these holds we could be seeing around 1.53 mark on the E/U.

I do not use the ATR what you see on my charts is all I use however I am sure it could be incorporated into this system.

The group effort is good idea, remember safety in numbers...

The only other indicator I use is one that searches the pairs and their time frames looking for trends the indicator is like a dash board with all the pairs I trade and the little boxes show up green or red depending on if the trend is up or down and it shows what time frame it is on. I do not trade TF less then 30 minutes, at least not when looking for setups, I use the smaller TF for triggering the trade, here is the other indicator I use, this is a copyrighted indicator, I do not use it a lot because the way I have my charts set up I can see all the pairs.

The little circles in the top left of my chart also change color; red and green each circle represents a different time frame and the color represents the trend direction.

On the dashboard when the price falls in between the 30 and 50 MA the small bell appears on the time frame next to the small square it is really kind of unique. I actually got this from Hector Trader some years back.

I have been trading this sytem for 4 or 5 years now and have had some excellent success with it.

I woukd love to get that dashboard.

does that give you a strong signal to enter the trade. Im sure you confirm that your 1-2-3 rules are met, etc.

Are you able to catch at least 50% of the ADR using the dashboard?

Yes you are right very much strength in numbers.
Yes the ADR shows the average range the pair moves each day, with the ADR I set my TP and determine if there is enough room left that to take the trade. The dash board I do not use too often however there are times I will pull it up and look, it seems that the price has to be very close to the 50 MA for the bell to show up but it does show up.

Many times I will just set an alarm to let me know me know when the price has reached a certain level, I have a trend line alerter as well, what that does is turns your trend lines into alert signals, when the price reaches the trendline or how ever many pips above or below you have it set for it also sounds an alarm, and I have used that quite a bit, but again that is another one that copyrighted.

But I think most platforms have some sort of price alert signal, I know FXtrading station does and that is the platform I actually place the trades from, and Metatrader has alrms too.

Yes you are right very much strength in numbers.
As far as catching pips, the best indicators are the ADR along with the round numbers that I have my grid set at, just those 2 things are really powerful in my trading strategy. The ADR has been right more times than not, and the round numbers goes wtihout saying there are so many stops and targets set around those numbers that the price actionis more times than not is going bounce or go sideways a bit before moving on in direction or another. And yes I always look for the Break out then the pullback and then continuation, and I set my SL right behind the event that got me in the trade, unless the SL is extremely small I never move it unitl I can place it at BE.

One other thing I should mention too is if my 1,2,3 forms around one of those round numbers I will place my SL to one side or the other of that price because I know the price action can get funny around those numbers so I give it a little more room to breath around those numbers.

Lets say we are in an uptrend, and the 1,2,3 forms near but below the round number, I will wait to place my entry until it clears that round number. Because they really act as strong S/R and the smaller the drawdown the better, then I place the SL about 15 to 20 pips below the RN.

Somewhere in this thread I uploaded the grid that I am using it is not copyrighted so I uploaded that, and then I have posted the settings so the grid only shows the round numbers if you look at the grid in my charts you will see that only the round numbers have grid lines and are highlited so you can see them.

Well I am no expert nor a professional trader, however I do know that I have had some excellent results trading this way, and when I first started visiting the FF there were a lot of traders that would answer my questions and pass along the ideas then I came across this method of trading and have not looked back since.

So I figured I would share my method of tend trading and the whole concept behind this thread is that we all make money with as little risk as possible, no system is bullet proof but taking only the low risk high probabilty trades and cutting losses short is the key to successful trading and that is what makes this system one of the best I have ever seen.

The trendlines are still used like they are in most systems and certain candlestick formations are used the same as they would be in any other method, the big difference is where those candlestick formations form, you will see that I am talking about as the thread goes on, but for an example I use the hammer candlestick formation like anyone else, but I only pay attention to it if it happens in certain key areas.

This is a well thought out system and staying steadfast to the rules is paramount as it is in any system. Like taking entries when to far away from any any S/R and not waiting for the reversal formations and such will kill the value of any system.

One of the key factors in this system is trendlines, not necessarily the handrawn line but the MA lines, they are dynamic meaning they will move with the market where straight hand drawn lines will not, and markets are not perfect and they will over shoot any trend line but knowing that the the market has to come back to those MA lines makes it a little easier to look for the reversal patterns and where a next impluse wave may start.

The other nice feature about the MA lines is it can give you an idea how healthy the trend is, as long they are all pointed in the same direction,parallel, in order and price is swinging nicely in the areas of the 30 and 50 MA and not playing with the 100 MA then the trend is looking pretty darn good. if the lines start crossing back and forth then I start backing away until it gets organized again.

Using fibs and previous swing lows and highs is still used in this system as well, but rather than just looking for it to bounce off of a particular fib number is not, I am looking at an area between the 38.2 and the 61.8 fib number. I do not pay attention to the higher numbers or the lower numbers on my Fib lines. Then once price reaches that window then I look for the confluence of the S/R to come together and if all those confluences come together at the same area...well that is a pretty strong defense and I start looking for the reversal formation, if my last line of defense gets wiped out then I pass on the setup and wait for another opportunity to come around...and it will.

So discipline is key like it is in any trading system, you might miss a trade here and there waiting for the BPC but there will be other opportunities to recapture those most elusive pips...
