Hey man really do like this thread, puts a nice twist on things! Can I recommend slowly increasing your starting balance on incrememnts of $10 or $50 or something, but only on days where you meet your target? So if you do 100 to 1k one day, do 110 to 1100 the next? That way you risk $10 more from your winnings but also seek a more challenging reward

I thought about this thread whole day. And now, this result is unbelievable to me. I never thought scalping has so much potential. I really feel ashamed of myself as a long term trend trader.

These results are believable to me, because I've been trading long enough and have achieved similar results with small accounts. It requires a little luck and a LOT of skill, and won't be matched by most. I have watched his entries and exits and obviously he is a skilled trader, but even he had a 80% drawdown a couple days ago, and thats what you can expect with these high risk high reward type of trading... There's always a high probability of blowing the account... I look at this approach as entertaining and not a serious approach to trading. My own experience would say, trade $100 to $1000, then withdraw the funds and start over again at $100, as the average brain starts getting extremely foggy once bigger $$$$ amounts start showing up. Its like walking on a beam 1' off the ground versus the same beam 30' up. Losing $100 is no big deal, but losing $10,000 is... well thats my perspective anyways. :-)

The problem is sustainability with this type of trading and as the previous post suggested, you take the $100 to 1K, remove $900 and go again. 80% drawdown is extreme and from an emotional standpoint anything over a significant amount would wreck your nerves.

Long term traders may not experience massive gains over a short period, we experience solid growth over time and once you have traded for long enough making 1K or more a week can be the norm as your account allows for the greater gains. This type of trading can be successful in the short term but is not sustainable, plus the amount of time spent in front of the PC can be quite lengthy as you get in and out time and time again.

I love this thread because it entertains and shows there is possibility in taking small accounts and building them quickly PROVIDED you get some things working in your favour and you can take the drawdown in stride, get back on the horse and go at it again.

Each has there purpose and each scratches an itch.

bernie madoff sold the idea of 11% a year return trading and accrued billions. with little transparency for 11%... yearly... If ur making 10% a month then your set bud. agreed tho 100 to 1000 is something...
