The width is determined by the width of the candles in the main chart. Press the Num+ key to zoom in.

I really like this indicator hanover

One thing I suggest is creating a version of the indicator that builds a custom time frame based on the chart it is attached to.

EXAMPLE:

You might attach to an H1 chart and set the indi to the settings of 6,8,12 and the indi would create custom candle histograms of the 6, 8, & 12 hour charts.

To have the Recent Candles indi and a version of it that constructs custom candles on a second monitor would be dreamy.

Hi David,

Many thanks again for your amazing work. I've just done a clean install and am having problems in reinstalling the recent candles indicator. Firstly, when I click to download the files it ask for them to be downloaded as 'attachment'.php files - I'm sure this didn't used to happen. It's not a problem as I save the files as .ex4 and .txt files respectively. The indicator is working but when I change the preset files nothing seems to change. Do you have any suggestions? I'm assuming the names of the files are critical so they can communicate - 'Recent Candles' or 'Recent_Candles' for eg? - impossible to tell because of the underlined download link. Sorry to be a pain and thanks again.

That's strange. I just downloaded the files from post #1 (my web browser is Opera, rather than Internet Explorer) and everything was OK. I can e-mail the files to you, if you wish - let me know.

Have you removed the double slashes (//) from the beginning of each line in the parameter file? Any line starting with // is ignored, allowing the value entered in the MT4 dialog window (when you attach the indicator) to override that in the parameter file.

The name of the parameter file needs to be exactly:
Presets---Recent Candles.TXT
That should be the same name as the one that's downloadable from post #1.

All works OK for me here. Try the above and re-post if it doesn't solve your problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Should have checked your profile, I didn't realize that we were trans-Tasman neighbors!

Re being an honorary Australian, my maternal grandmother was born in Adelaide. Her grandfather was William Henry Gray, one of the founding settlers there (suburb Rosewater was originally Graytown). I've managed to find several references to WH Gray on the internet.

Of course I support the Wallabies, but only because they have a New Zealander coaching them, LOL.

Professionalism has killed sport for me; it's hard to be patriotic when your national (or local) team includes several overseas players, purely for financial reasons. Basically you're cheering for the color of a jersey.

And they keep changing the rules. Rugby isn't what it used to be. And I don't care what the masses want to pay to see, anything less than 5 days isn't cricket.

Strange. Attached is the latest version, which is running fine on my config here. My MT4 build is 225, my broker is Go Markets, my OS is Windows XP Home 2002 Service Pack 2.

I couldn't get it to work on either my live alpari or demo. I tried on windsor direct (mt4) too . It might be my computer running OS vista. I'll try it on another computer later on.

First of all thank you for your great indicator

however i have problem when want displaying both gbpusd and eurousd it seem all display text is dissapear? It is bug or just only me? Thanx

What broker are you using?
What parameters did you enter?
Which chart did you attach the indicator to?
