I wouldn't worry about it, if there are a massive amount of mismatched errors compared to the data you used then maybe there is a problem but in every backtest I have every used using the strategy tester there are some chart errors. If you have been backtesting using the longer timeframes then there is no problem, it would be a matter of a few pips here and there.

before testing : you have to download new datas > TOOLS > archives > select currencies > click on download

when it's finished , now , you can make a good test

you will still get an occasional error.
My point was that the errors are minimal and will only cause a few ticks worth of inconsistency on each trade. To go and backtest through months worth of data will take time.

well i think if it is just a matter of few pips then it's ok , also i have another point which is my SL , during the test i kept moving my SL with spanB (1Hr) causing a lot of modifications on the same position i think this might be the reason for the errors.
i have attached the test report in here, may be you can look at it if you have time and let me know what do you think.

Hi all,

I started reading this thread, but after page 60 got a little exhausted!!!

Great thread tho!!!

I have downloaded v3 of the signal indicator. Is this still the latest one? Or have I missed anything!!!??

I will be trading Ichi as my sole strategy from now on and hope I can learn from and contribute to this thread.

So, my first contribution is the best money management rule I have ever used.

And this is it:

If your account size permits it, open 3 lots [doesn't matter if they are normal, mini or micro, but make sure the total possible loss on the 3 lots fits within your own personal money management rules].

Then - and here comes the genius - when price has moved in your favour by a distance equal to HALF the stop loss distance, close 2 lots.

Think long and hard about this guys.

Basically, it means that once you have closed 2/3rds of the position, you can leave the stop IN ITS ORIGINAL PLACE - in order to give the trade room to breathe, BUT, it means that even if you get stopped out at that level, you are break even in the trade!

I call them "free" trades. So, if you get to a point where you have closed the 2/3rds, you can't lose on the trade - even if it goes against you.

This is far better than moving your stop to the entry price because you might still get stopped out.........................

For me, the NUMBER 1 RULE - WITHOUT EXCEPTION - is PRESERVATION OF CAPITAL!!!!

I think it will be fine.
The mismatch is a mismatch between timeframes.
kinonen is correct but you will need to download M1 through to your cvhosen timeframe to retest (H1).
If your entry and SL were all on the H1 timeframe, then the pip TP and SL will be correct.

Hey Guys-

Does anyone know why I am only getting 4- months of past data on the Trade Simulator. I wanted the dates from 1-3-09 to the present. and the simulator is starting at 7/23/09.
Help please!

Quick and dirty solution would be to set the color of all the other lines to 'NONE'.

One question - what happens with the capital preservation, if your 2 first position are loser (2 activated stops)??

the same thing that happens when you get stopped outright in a losing trade, they are bound to happen you know. The total of the three positions is equal to how much you are willing to lose on that trade, so when you open a trade you already kissed that money goodbye if you are to remain emotionally detached.
let's take for argument's sake the opposite view.
in the example below is a bearish kumo breakout on 1H TF. entry is @ 1.4967, SL @ the upper kumo 1.5000, and TP is a@ the 4H kumo 1.4843. we will open 3 minilots for each. Managing the trade according to Gt3rs would reap 158 pips, but managing it in the "standard way" (what most of us do) will bank 372 pips. what do you think guys?

you can avoid fake signals by:

1. making sure your trade is in the direction of the trend
2. not taking a trade till after it clears key support or resistance
3. not taking the trade during slow moving times like in the middle of a session or say friday afternoon or sunday night
4. avoiding major impact news time
5. trying higher TF instead of lower, (fewer fakes but larger SL==> smaller lot size)
Even after all these precautions, you will stil have fake signals but they will be fewer, but most important is to apply strict Money Management to minimize loss when these fake signals occcur.

No, Ichimoku works in all time frames and with all pairs.

All ichi lines are S/R , Span B is the strongest one , this is why we put our SL there
