i took a hit and just recovered most of it with 2 manual buy baskets hitting TP with multiplier 300 and 500 at the moment I have another basket waiting to close with multiplier 750 lol if it hits TP, then I recovered my loss fully.

I only take the opening Tokyo trades, im feeling its more secure than the Tokyo close trades and im having good succes. Sure there are not so many trades to take, but still its enough for me, i will raise lotsize with the time.

Well at last i became a Member so my post will not have to wait for moderation anymore .

I think I should wait for indicator line in M15 cross back 10/90 to take trade. I mean if indicator in M15 cross 10 line downside and cross 20 line in H1 (sell signal) I don't sell immediately but wait for indi in M15 cross upside 10 line again then take sell order and vice versa for buy. Follow this rule, I could prevent 2 loss buy basket this morning. Actually it loss in my demo account. when the indicator in M15 cross 90 line downside, I buy in my live account and took profit. Just my observation from 2 previous loss basket. Have not backtest further.

3 = stops trading during high impact news period
2 = stops trading during high and medium impact news period
1 = stops trading duringall news periods

hmm just had another sl hit on the buy basket cause i changed my protection to 10% ... wiped out my profits for the day, time to take a break and reflect.

I think a 30% is a better idea since it can "breathe", i agree its nuts but in the light of how this system works i think its needed.

First post in FF and have to report some losses....
Before start with the report i wish to thank you Steve, Scooby and the other members for the efforts in this thread

JadeFX, ECN, 5-digit, $ 10000 Demo account
2009.11.18 23:00 + 131.21 $
2009.11.19 02:00 - 1043.81 $
2009.11.19 03:00 - 911.05 $
2009.11.19 05:19 - 817.46 $
2009.11.19 08:07 - 787.50 $
2009.11.19 09:15 + 312.51 $
Total - 3184.72 $

All trades executed by 24H EA V.1.4 except trade at 08:07 executed by proper EA V.2.7. Both EA's use default settings for TP, SL etc.
I will now upgrade both EA to latest version and check how the hedge will work on the 24H version.

Maybe we should add another filter / indicator to avoid such bad trades ?

Looking forward in a big success with this EA

IBFX (Live) hit the SL, as did the demo, the 24hr bot got a successful trade out of it.

With protection at 30%, hedging will not kick in until dd has reached 15%.

Given our collective experience of 24H baskets going bad, it looks at the ratio of hedging at dd = 50% of stop leaves things too late. Ok, this doesn't matter for the 24H version as it is really only a toy, but if we can get hedging right on this robot, it will give an added layer of security to the proper bot.

Shall we make it hedge at dd = 25% of stop? Or would you like me to make it a user input so you can play with your own settings?

May be looking at a bigger down move. On the GJ 4 hr, has been ranging form 151.30 and 148.40 for a few weeks.

Price hit the 148.40 area a bit ago, broached it but didn't break it. Went back up, maybe the big players taking out some stops?
If price breaks 148.40 and sticks below, should be in for a good short move.
Also, 148.40 is at a 38 fibo level.

My 24/5 opened a buy at the 148.40 when the price retraced back up through it. If support holds, may be a winner. If support breaks, its a loser. Be interesting to see.

I see the 24H version is having some problems.

If you are going to use hedging then you cant put individual SL's on each trade or if you do then they need to be much greater, obviously.

There is a big difference to running these two systems.

On a 15M chart put a 200 SMA on it and tell me what you see ?, basically you should only be selling if below the line and buying above the line. The 24H version needs to work differently as obviously the BOJ intervention's are not confined to short gains prior to open or close. All other rules/conditions still apply.

OMG that is what the problem is !!! thank you scooby-doo! I was thinking it but i figured it was already covered... the stop loss should be moved the moment hedge is activated .

Actually the hedge entered... all fine as CHF and AUD pulling all south

The hedge needs to kick in at 5% max and not 10%, 15%, 20% or greater otherwise you will blow your bums out of the water.

That is an excellent idea !! Say the hedge always started at 5% despite the protection level being 30% that way a nut like me and DX can have our baskets hedged and not closed untill 30% is reached, which will not happen easily with such setup.

Loving how this ea is constantly evolving
