All I can say is this; FFCal contacts FF for its info; if FF is not displaying up to date info, then FFCal is going to be incorrect.

Looks like a case of 'user beware'. If FF is unreliable, then it is up to all of us to visit a more reliable site to find out when a news release is likely to kill our trading. Maybe the robot needs a don't-trade-until xx setting to deal with these...
Steve, I found this article online and have converted it to attached pdf. Maybe this can give us a few ideas? I dunno. Interesting if nothing else.

Just an FYI. I sent a test Sell basket with the 2.5 version. Was working. Heard my alert go off and when I checked the EA managed the trades and closed them in profit. Very very nice

First, Steve & Scoobie, I want to thank you for running this remarkable thread. Right now I am running a live micro account and a demo 24 hour account. I'm looking forward to reporting the results, in a few days.

On another note, all this time talk got me thinking, there surely must be a better way. I don't have the talents to be a programmer, but it seems that there must be a place to link time to. I came across the official U.S. Naval Observatory website and it looks like they have the USNO Network time servers (what ever they are).

Perhaps you could link the EA to one of these. http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/ntp.html

I hope can make a small contribution to the community.

I believe there is a nuclear submarine in the pacific ocean which sends out timezone information. Is it possible to program the robot to get this information or maybe from the NASA space station ?, Also, could you link the robot up to the satalites in the sky so that we know (in advance) of any disasters as they happen around the world.

If someone cant figure out what their local time is and the associated time in any other country then they should not be trading the currency market with lots greater than 0.00.

Well, the pdf I posted about new methods of news analysis is there for anyone else to read who didn't already know everything in the article. Personally I think the opinions of a former CEO of a quantitative trading operation owned by Deutsche Bank could be of some merit.

I know the skipper. He consults his watch and updates the timezone info every hour at the o'clock. He keeps his watch accurate by tuning into The Archers on Radio 4 longwave once a day.

He says that if it would help, he will leave the watch in front of a webcam all day so we can all consult it.
