I was thinking the same as I was reading it. From what I've gathered over time about the Japaneze culture- commitment to Family honor, work and country are huge. The pressure to perform must be very high.

Thanks for the useful link. Eventhough I thought I had my times set correctly, this link proved me wrong by an hour at each end.

If anyone is still confused about what start/end times they need to enter to get the robot working in their timzeone then use the site below, just enter the country you are in and it will tell you the start/end times for Tokyo etc.

Actually I just keep my screen on as i do my studying for the mutual funds exam (IFC), which is pretty much all day long as i got the exam next week. When I see a GBP/JPY candle rapidly go past (down since its been trend on daily) the approximate range in which the market been holding at for the good part of any session, wait for the candle to close (15min TF) and open a sell basket if the 2nd candle is passing the low of the previous candle.
Sounds kinda dumb to a pro trader since i dont use any indicators for this lol but i find looking at candles and the speed of their move the best indicator

Ehup all. Sorry to not be around today, but Friday is a busy teaching day for me. If there is one truism about one-to-one teaching it is this: the teacher has to give the student his attention of the student goes elsewhere.

This week has been another blast.

Scoobs, all our thanks again. It doesn't matter how much goes into the robot, it can only trade successfully if the system it trades is a good one. What you have given us here is priceless.

My thanks to all those here who have pitched in with coding help, indis and general ideas and feedback. Especially the coding help when I have found myself clueless, or simply missed pre-GCSE mistakes such as misplaced brackets etc.

Looking forward to next week enormously.

Nothing wrong with looking at candles, I sometimes just do this and ignore indicators etc. Especially on longer term trades.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're looking at it tonight (Friday), doesn't the "Sunday" start time for Tokyo open begin three hours later than the rest of the week?

Hehe. I managed a bit of a classic in post no 1. I have just copied it into an editor so I can make changes to it in advance of posting V2.4. Scrolling down through the doc, I noticed the warning para Look at the bit highlighted in blue. We all know what I meant to say, but what I actually said was completely different if you read it with a tiny bit of attention.

You are welcome here but MUST do the basic reading and research to allow you to understand what is going on here. Earlier this week, the legions of the lazy, stupid, or both asked so many infantile questions that scooby-doo got pissed off and left. Happily, he has returned and I am not going to risk that happening again. If new posters ask questions that make it obvious that they have not done the basic reading (and it will be obvious), I will bar them from posting at all. This is my thread, so I have that authority.

Several people have mentioned that the RS_GROUP JPY Strength Index indicator re-paints.

Can someone provide a version that doesnt re-paint ?

It would be good to see if this makes the indicator less or more accurate for this method and possibly the 24/5 version which is on the horizon.

Hi guys just finished reading the thread and I’m very impressed. I had a go at basket trading about a year ago when ES trader started his thread, but found the draw downs were wiping out all profits. This method is certainly a big leap forward from that, with sound reasoning behind it. I had my first trade on Thursday night using Interbank demo. EA worked perfectly and I was in and out in about 10 minutes like most others.

Looking forward to testing this. Thanks to Scooby, Steve and everyone else who has contributed.

It is obviously vital to know what the local times are in other trading centres. The huge number of posts about time here shows that clearly.

Here is a free neat app which gives you the possibility of setting up desktop clocks for each major trading centre - http://www.qlock.com/

It can only work properly if your own computer time is correct set!!

To set up a GMT clock, use Reykjavik in Iceland, as Iceland is always at GMT and does not have summer and winter time changes.
