On IBFX demo server#1, using v2.3 & new indy.
Basket buy at 07:46 GMT ( 1 hour ago).
DD is getting heavy & pairs are showing down trend on the 15M.
Just have to wait n see.
Wouldnt have let real money go in there.

Nothing. At the moment, it is programmed to have only one basket open at a time.

missed the trading as my basket trades were still in the dd well in to end of session ... finally closed in profit

Opened a manual buy 0.03 lots (this time for sure ) tp at 149.50

I had strange happenings as well but on IBFX. I had 2 demos running. 1 for quick testing and another for longer term testing. Whenever you have a lost connection the platform chirps at you. It was at that time that I realized I was testing on 2 different servers. Only 1 had lost connection while the other one was fine.

I then noticed that the reading for the JPY strength index were different. I waited for the platform to come back up to refresh. When it did come back up, the indicator never got refreshed. I had to manually close the platform and start it up again. Only then did the indie match that of the platform that never shut down.

It's a bit unnerving to know that a brief lost connection could throw off the indie. Why would the indie not refresh on it's own? Is it there a bug in the indie code?

is there code in EA to glance at server connectivity ?

my Alpary uk often disconnect and i need to scan it manually to restart. So, EA might monitor this kind of problem by retrying to connect til its ok.

I might be wrong but as far as I know there is no code to rescan/connect to the server.

To be honest this has always worried me about retail trading.

Dee, Whats the name of the IBFX server that shuts down.
I get to see mine as;
IBFX-MT4 Demo-1_5 decimal
by going to File > Login then on the drop down select the acct number.
Server should change to the actual name that it uses for that account, if you had set it to remember login info.

When noted, select cancel to not disturb your platform.

I have noticed missing time periods on the charts, that only fixed by "Refreshing" the chart.

Never noticed them before on some other IBFX demos or my IBFX live or on an FXDD demo.

On another item, I think somebody earlier was asking how long the sell or buy monitoring lasts. From the ea code, I believe it is for 2 hrs 30 min. Seems to go for 3 hrs from the entered start hour, buts waits 30min before starting monitoring.

When MT4 loses connection to the server you basically have to shutdown and restart or wait for it to re-establish connection itself, which it is not very good at doing and can take many minutes. I dont know what logic it uses but it doesnt re-test connection very often when this happens.

Basically if it loses connection then the EA stops, so i dont think it can disaply a pop up etc.

Basically all you do is change the Text string from CloseAll to Inmediatebuybasket and change the X-Y coordinates to where you want it on your chart and add your call to run the Inmediatebuybasket() function to the end. See code below for all you need to change. Let me know if its unclear.

In case this helps anyone, here is a link to history of this EA for last two days on Alpari UK. No manual intervention of any kind and updated with all the latest files including indi update before trading starts. No disconnection during use with settings straight out of the box.

Also notice the unintended Buy 11/11 which turned into a profit, this was due to a coding glitch, now rectified.

This history will automatically update, so should give a running commentary on progress.

I have modified FFCal so that you can pass a currency to it. Reason being I dont think it should enter a trade if there is pending news for any of the pairs in the basket.

This is really aimed at the 24/5 version but it would of helped lastnight when there was news about AUDJPY which sent allot of peoples trades into DD.

Here is the call if you want to use it:
