DislikedSo I have read the BOJ document several times now and am absolutely amazed and fascinated. The implications here are in my opinion staggering. I know of and use several news feeds that are real time and included no extra charge with an account. Oanda, IBFX, FXCM to name a few. All of these post in real time. In the article, it was mentioned that the probability of continued intervention is highly positively correlated with the public intervention process and that over 66% of all interventions fall into the public category. There is even a larger...Ignored
DislikedI noticed you EA opens the trade when the lower time frame is above 90 or below 10 and the high time frame is above or below 70 or 30.
Perhaps I have misunderstood, but i think I recall Scooby Doo stating that the lower time frame was supposed to go above or below 90 or 10 and then hook up or down out of 90 or 10. something like this....Ignored
That is the logic of start(); the code should be easy to follow by navigating the comments. I am sure it is correct, but sing out if you spot any errors.

DislikedActually Geithner is not for it
U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said a “day-by-day” tax on speculation is “not something we’re prepared to support.”
It was France and the UK that were talking it up.Ignored
DislikedSteve,
Sorry, I meant you should not trade the first sunday candle on your lower TF. After that it is normally ok to trade.Ignored
QuoteDislikedAlso, i have been doing allot of thinking about the different TF's.
We should just use M15 and H1. Reason being, lower would give us false signals, higher wouldnt give us many trading signals.
Sorry if this causes extra work.
Cheers
DislikedI shall code this into the robot tomorrow. In the meantime, everybody just wait until the second candle tonight before turning on the robot if you want to emulate this, then turn off the Sunday candle filter.
Not of any great significance. Do you mean:
15M/60M only?
or
Traders can set the robot onto either a15M or a 60M chart?

DislikedAgree, SMJ... At last a reasonable Fundimental Predictive that a poor, dumb, working full time, part time trading chump can actually use and make sense of....
What a fascinating thread! I have been trading the JPY pairs of the T101 basket, using his basket IA account method and supp and resis levels of the various jpy charts. Thanks to Scooby, I now know why I have found such good moves (not to mention some bad ones too) at certain times of day.
Thanks Steve and Scooby and all others.
Scoob, do you agree that the GJ and EJ are the...Ignored
DislikedThat makes sense - I think it is the chart most of us have been using anyway.
I won't disable the robot on other tf's; I will code in a warning that it is intended for the 15M chart.

DislikedThank you to all who are sharing here - wonderful read, especially the pdf.
I notice the EA's default start times for sell and buy are 8 hours apart and there has been some posts before about whether the difference in hours should be 8 or 9 hours. Well, the Oanda FXMarketHours link in the first post shows that the Tokyo market is open for 9 hours so should the difference in sell and buy hours be 9 hours too?Ignored
Disliked'Tis ok. The code sequence in start() is this, assuming the robot has not been disabled:
[list][*]Checks for an open basket and monitors it, going no further down the code than this.[*]Checks all the time filters etc and halting at any stage that the robot finds one of them to be wrong.[*]Assuming trading hours are ok etc, the robot looks for a setup:[list][*]Reads the indi.[*]If lower and higher tf are >= their respective overbought settings, the robot sets an overbought global variable. The value of the variable is irrelevant.[*]Vice-versa...Ignored
DislikedHi Steve, Yes I understand that the way you have it written, if the global is set, that means that the Lower TF indicator went extreme. However, maybe we need a clarification from Scooby on this , but the way you have it written, once the global is set, as long as the current bar even just ticks outside of the 90/10 area, the trade is taken; even though the inciator could easily bounce back up and close back inside the 90/10. This would trigger the trade anyway and if one looked at the chart, they would never know the indi ticked below. Again, and...Ignored
DislikedI fully understand your point. Normally any system should be on the close of the current bar. However, because of the BOJ intervention, the XXXJPY can suddenly just take off with the current bar going from < 10 to > 50 in seconds. This is something that we want this system to be able to handle, otherwise we will miss out on a potential trade. With the external system i am testing, i do actually look for the close of the current bar but that at the moment is outside of this system.Ignored
