Thanks for the info, I thought the THV is more for scalping at 1m/5m charts, now I look at the thread more seriously

Good point, but after you get the indy...you should check out Indreks MTF Trix thread...a lot of good info on how to trade longer TF's with Trix.

Cobras THV Trix...is REALLY good...pre-set with email alerts etc...

G'day traders,

I have been reading a lot of articles on "clean break" below or above this level means downward/upward trend.

Can someone please help me understand what does a "clean break" means?

For example if a price goes below .9150 in AUD and touch .9130, would that be considered as a clean break below .9150?

or does it have anything to do with the timeframe i.e the price has to close below .9150 in 15m or 30m or 1H chart to be able to confirm as a clean break?

Hi Puks, clean break means no more strong support or resistance after the breakout/down has accurred but for me she has to pass 9100 fisrt

ASX is holding up, unless that falls AUD will hold at these levels I mean 9150ish

This is precisely the reason why I would want to go with MT4 where I can use the hedging in the same currency pair.


Puks I am with FXCM Australia but I do not use MT4 but I am able to hedge the same currency pair with them and have found them to be fine with no complaints........I found CMC's Market Maker very clumsy when I used to do some cfd's with them.

ok guys im out of here below is my overall position and if that longterm multiple moving average continue spreading and the degree or separation between them getting bigger (comb pattern) then i know the trend will establish ! just IMO

Hi Ben ...I dont normally make a habit of hedging the same currency only did it a couple of times when I was jammed in something and did not want to take "the hit".Basically put the hedge in to stop the bleeding then had to increase the second trade to average it down (or up).Worked out OK in the end but you have to be ready to increase your hedger otherwise the staus quou remains.

I believe so.

My daily chart has given me the reversal signal so I am going short with TP of .9110 (around 50 pips)

I went long in EU last night and forgot to put a S/L. When I woke up, i saw the pair moved some 180 pips against me...

Lucky my lot size was relatively small but as usual, I am back to the business of averaging up.

I tried using demo on MT4 and found it to be wonderful as it you can set in your TP and trailing s/l + you can hedge in the same currency pair.

Lets see what EU brings today. I am adding more longs in EURO with tight SL just below 1.4840 (Major Major support line).

Short AUD and long EU. Kind of hedging.
