Thank you, 45Fxguy for your advice. I've used control points in visual mode method without downloading chart history by pressing f2 (i used only tester window with m15 data. But I've observed diffrent behaviour EA on back test and demo account (the second one givs better result). My experiment was based on kaizasoze config, but now I'm using my own (now I better recognise all settings). But for me back test are not reliable.

adx - the same way
In case of ATR you can put standard indy of mt4 - Average True Range on chart - you can see blue line and in left upper corner you'll see period (standard 14 like in EA) and value of actual ATR in pips. Be careful - each tf have the difrent ATR.

Hi all,

Is here anybody who is actively using the trixdivergence set to 3 in combination with other rules for entry/exit?
I have not been able to use this function it only results in ea taking trades the opposite way. Please shed some light on this if you have accomplished something I havenīt.

Also someone please provide an example an appropriate adx-value on M1/M5 if used (for example) in combination with ATR. Am I right in assuming 1.0 could be a pretty good value or have I messed up the atr/adx equation?

I believe ADX is a % value normally somewhere between 15% & 60% indicating trend strength. I have been testing with values of about 25 which seems to filter out bad trades.
20 was too low & 30 too high ( M15 EURUSD ).

Hey Guys/Gals

1st thanks for creating and releasing this great EA.

I have noticed a few people have asked for a .set file and never have seen one posted. I have been running the EA on a $5000 demo for a couple of week and it will have a number of wins, then a loss or 2 and it back to $5000.

I know I want to change the 2nd half of the trade to BE (perfer 1 or 2 pips) after the 1st TP at 10 pips to keep from lossing the profit from the 1st 10 pips.

Anyway, any suggested setting.

Hi,

I'm currently live testing the THV EA with my Live MBT Metatrader account with micro-lots (MBT MT4 Demo isn't exactly reliable).

At the moment, trades aren't getting triggered at all.

And under the Alerts section at the bottom Terminal, I'm getting errors like "THV EA v1.0 EURUSD, M5: object name passed to ObjectSet function cannot be an uninitialized or empty string."

Another error I'm getting is "THV3 Trix for MTFHisto EURUSD,M15: unknown subwindow number -1 for ObjectCreate function."


Any help on correcting this will be very much appreciated.

Let's say you set slippage to 2 pips and we are in a fast run; the EA triggers a buy or sell signal, it sends the order to your broker but at the moment he receive it, the PA moved 5 pips higher than your desired order.

Your position will not acepted by your broker, you would have to set slippage to min. 5 pips to get this specific order to be filled

Is that understandable?

Hi guys. Is there any way to simply set the THV indicators to give me an alarm when only the following two conditions are met at the same time:

 

  1. Price crosses the cloud
  2. Fast and Slow Trix Cross

Trying this with the expert but its not working so I am coming back to basics and hoping that the indicators can help. Any help though will be appreciated.

The Metatrader offered by MB Trading is currently not compatible with this EA neither with any other MT4 EA I have tried. (I believe any EA that modifies its own orders would be incompatible) I would also strongly advice you to try it on a demo first if you are just now getting it set up.

Hi Guys & Gals

I have just downloaded the THV EA v1.0 and am testing on the majors on 5M with standard settings until I have fully read and understood the "user guide / Manual". I have noticed that the Ichimoko Cloud Histo Bar is showing all green on both time settings and green all the way backwards. Something obviously wrong. I have "Allow DLL imports" and "Allow external experts imports" ticked together with "Fixed Minimum and Fixed Maximum" ticked and all other setting are as it came out of the box. Can anyone help as I am concerned the faulty settings will affect the performance of the EA.

Entry is Short, expectation is exit if iMax cross go up. Trade terminated at iMax cross down.
Have I anywhere error in setting?

I set the EA for a quick 5/10 pips:
TP1 - 5.0
TP2 - 10.0

BreakEvenPips - 5.0
LockPips - 2.0
OppositeSignalExit - True
FreshSignal - True
StopLossPips - 30.0

So, my question is, I had a trade that closed half for a loss and the 2nd half went to profit. What setting needs to be changed or why did it close half and not all?

You should set IndicatorsExitPriority to 0, not 2.

It closed half lots because PartialClose1 is 50, which means 50% of initial lots are closed. Set CloseIfProfit to true to force the EA to hit take profit or only close in profit.

I think some people have good working set files - I personally optimize currently a set file for the TF H1 - but it's very hard to find appropriate parameters considering the big variety and possible combinations of these parameters ! May be in Cobra's forum you could find more advice and experience ?

Btw - it seems to me, here in this thread it's now a bit quiet ? No more good ideas to find here now ??? May be this is a visible expression of the complexity for findig good set files for this EA ? Or where is Kaz ... and many other good team memebers ?
