It is fighting with 1.4700 level.
A good trader looks at the bigger picture and is aware of economic situation (fundamentals).
It will go down if EUR weakens / dollar gets strengh.
Major moves in a short period of time disturb equilibrium.
Trend reversals are not always easy.

Not doing good. My anlysis was right but play was wrong. Opened right number of lots in the right direction at the right time, but sl was 1 pip (just one fu$&ing pip) too close, it got hit before continuing south journey.

Anyway, going to re-enter shorts for my target of 1.4500, then maybe up to 1.4250.

As a new rule, mY sls will NEVER be less than 100 pips.

ps. 100 pip was my old rule, but few months ago on its way up, it spiked down about 120 pips just to eat my sl. After that using tight sls, but these tight sls are more expensive than those occassional spikes.

This is what I am looking at.

Expecting it to fill the red circle and then blue one.

A spike or move upto 1.4950 possible before it happens, if it happens. Bears may like to keep their positions small to take advantage of that spike and to keep their losses within tolerable limit if it decides to go up to 1.5500 than to 1.4500

I don't know from where it will start coming down, but think it should comeback to test 1.4500 very soon, if it is true that history repeats itself.

Point to note on Monthly chart
Can it go up to make it a perfect double top? maybe, maybe not.
Monthly chart shows very few perfect double tops or bottoms.

Difficult to say how this will play out, but I suspect that this might be on the right track, although 4670 seems to be a stumbling block on the southbound journey. ......

One can also check for possible direction of a currency by looking at its behavior with respect to other currency pairs.

Following charts show how USD is behaving against Japanese Yen (JPY).

Red circled area in the daily chart seems a strong bullish pattern.

There were news few weeks ago that Japanese goverment may protect 85.00 level because USD below this level won't be good for Japanese economy. Further, many are expecting USD appreciation in the near future.

Yep.....Often I notice the USD/JPY pair moving opposite to the EUR/USD pair. It seems a bit confused so far today though, but I am waiting to see whether the EUR/USD pair can get close to 4740 - 4750 area. If so, I might add a short here.....

I would have done the same and one more short in 1.477x range - but I am not trading this pair at the moment. I got burnt last friday doing short term. Trying to listen to market's shorter term noise before punting one more short term trade.
