EUR catching an updraft again

There has been a bit of stop hunting in EUR/USD and EUR/JPY in the last 30 minutes and both pairs are back toward their session highs. As Sam mentioned earlier, there is talk out of Tokyo of stops building above 132.00 in the cross.

Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Treasury Department will announce today that AllianceBernstein Holding LP, BlackRock Inc. and Wellington Management Co. have raised a combined $1.94 billion for their funds participating in the U.S. effort to buy toxic assets from banks.

If I can make a suggestion, it would be nice to have the actual links to the articles on this thread as well. I'd like to know more about that story. $1.94 billion doesn't seem like much.

i personally hope to see some shorting action because i cant find any reason fundamentally for the pair to go up high and high when the bricks are falling apart... hmmm

ECB’s Nowotny feels the level of the euro isn’t a major threat right now. It merits scrutiny but no immediate action. EUR/USD trading firmer this morning, presently at 1.4650. As mentioned earlier sell orders noted at 1.4660 up through 1.4700.

Euro zone Sentix index has risen to -12.6 in October from -14.6 in September, in line with median forecast of -12.0. It’s the highest level since July 2008, but has done nothing for the euro, EUR/USD drifting down to 1.4615 at writing.

Hi Koala,
There's many reasons fundamentally to explain why this pair can go higher and many others to explain why it can go lower ... I'm not pretty good to understand all the reasons because it seems to me like saying all and his opposite but when last week Trichet 've "prayed" the FED for a stronger Dollar and when few hours later Bernanke says that he's worried for Dollar as reserve currency in the future ... it's turned my bearish sentiment into bullish ...
