Dumb question to someone so experienced as you maybe but do you perform regular housekeeping on your PC? Clear out your browser cache, cookies, delete what you don't use, perform disc & registry clean up and defrag your drives? Example: Windows installs an enormous number of fonts, most people only use a couple of dozen at most so why not delete the others? It's less for the machine to sort through. Many small improvements may add up to a lot.

Outside of that one should make sure that one's graphics drivers are up to date and that there are no IRQ conflicts. Often, more and faster RAM will cure a host of problems too.

For comparison purposes I am running both V3 & V4 together with both your old and new MTFs. I have seven charts up on 4 monitors with a brower open to FF and Outlook Express. I run WinXP home on a dual Athlon 6000 on MB with an 800 fsb and 3 meg of DDR 800. As I write my task manager shows 58 processes and the CPU usage hovers from 0 to 9% with occasional peaks 40% with a commit charge of 617 - 620M.

I'm thinking graphicscards using shared mem...perhaps?
My Vista SP2 notebook also grinds down to unworkable sluggishness with THV4. Not a problem as I hardly use it to trade, but always try out new MT/THV stuff on it anyway. Not very helpfull, should do some more diggin
but i suspect graphics as my desktop has comparable cpu but much faster/bigger graphics.



I'v noticed a little cosmetic bug on the InfoPanel btw. If i move it to Corner 1, the Spread line gets messed up:

How did you get the priceline to orange.
Look at something long enough, you will eventually get it.

Was just before London close ... but how can I resist if things get Rainbowish and coincides with THV?

Coral Cross, almost six lights, top two red
With Trend
Broke S3
Below all the corals

Had bullish divergence on 5 min, with Rainbow I felt confident that PA will deal with the divergence.

top two lights not red but Rainbow I counted the second row as red. (wonder if trading live if I would have taken this trade... Divergence on 5 just before London close?)

One MT4 has 9 THV templates open with 4 mini charts on each (36 mini charts!). The 2nd MT4 is running one chart with 15 mini charts ... this one is a little sluggish but is for analysis only.

I don't use MTF templates ... maybe I should try those as well.

Wow! I really liked your minimaps. I do not want to be rude and I know that it took you a lot of work to build it but can I ask you if it is possible to share the template? I am not very skilled in MT4 and I really need such map. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Cobra,

I have recently started trading the Cobra V4 on the 15 min timeframe, which is my preferred timeframe(less hectic and more time to think!!) I would first like to say a big thank-you to you and all your great team for just a great system and such a visually great presentation of all the indicator on the new V4.

My question is that I trade off the 15 min and I look for trend confirmation on the higher timeframes using the MTF Trix Indicator. I look for both fast and slow trix to match on the 15 min and I look for a general agreement on the 4 hour with either the fast in agreement or both. Now my problem seems to be mainly the 1 hour timeframe. Do I need both fast and slow to agree on the 1 hour timeframe or just the fast trix? I have seen quite a few missed trades where I did not take a trade because the fast and slow on the 1 hour Trix were not in agreement. Can you please advise me as to what I should be looking for on the 1 hour trix when trading the 15 min charts?

I have also seen other situations, where for example, when taking a short position, the 15 min Trix is in agreement and the the 1 hour fast is red and the 1 hour slow still green, is this still valid for a short?

I look forward to your comments and indeed, any other forum member and I once again, thank you and your time for your sharing spirit to us all.

Hi Miss Pips

This is one of my favorite indys and I prefer it to the MTF histogram lites.
I just watch a higher tf fast trix and jus drop the indy into the regular trix, my problem is the double vision labels. Since you posted the mq4 file, can you give me a hint how to keep it off the chart. Looking at the file, you seem to have hidden it well!

GU H1: This pair shows up as good as any as having downside potential. Current PA is well above previous, recent lows and thus has room to move down without hitting major support and having to break thru it to go lower into new territory. PA weakness is demonstrated by the break of TL (yellow sloped) and subsequent ranging involving a retest of the TL, which it failed to regain (yellow parallel). Trix is in negative territory and poised to cross down. Coral has very recently switched to bearish red.

Current support is provided by Monthly S2 and Weekly S3 pivot levels. So regardless of how the new day pivots come up, I'd be waiting for a move to break down thru the area of these two levels (yellow lower of parallel lines).

The question of Mindspere : do any of you watch for correlation between pairs?

 deserves to go a little deeper.

In this chart you see on the lower right side USDCHF and last EURJPY.

You see that both respect the DPivot levels while the EURUSD is rocking around without a pivot level to respect.

That happens often during the Asian session.

BTW, don't ask for the template, it's for my private use only as it contains information of other systems I trade and it would be too much to explain and also off topic.

I run the THV v4 on a quadcore Q6600 at 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM and a GeForce 8800 GTS running Vista Ultimate SP2. I run it also on a laptop with core2 solo 1.4GHz, 4GB RAM and a Intel 4500HD graphic card running Vista Home premium SP2. I see no difference in performance. It runs very good.

I noticed though that the memory usage is 68%. So this might be your answer. More RAM.

I am running the identical system to you but Home edition and I have 3GB Ram, so maybe I need to get 1 more gig.

Its a case that the system just sits and seems to hang for maybe 10, 20 or even 30 seconds before you get a price movement again...not good for scalping a few pips.

Maybe its my connection..ill check that as well.

A question about the Coral line. Some people have said they only trade Long when they are above the line and Short when they are below. Others say Long when it's green and Short when it's red... what is the actual real rule here?

Thank you for sharing your indicators MissPips, I would like to ask you a question about MTF Any Trix, does it repaint itself for the last bar? Is it working in the same manner as THV4 Trix v1.0? I just couldn't check it myself on the back test because it doesn't work with back test.

Be aware that if your system is 32 bit microsoft OS, adding RAM beyond 3 GB is usually pointless ... most will limit the use to approx 3.2 GB even if you have more.

This happened to me when I increased my RAM to 8GB on a 32 bit Microsoft OS ... most upsetting ... because my reason was to run vmware products, I changed to Linux and ran XP inside virtual machines.

Amazing that microsoft limits you like this ... same system under linux (with PAE), all 8GB available and I could run multiple 'virtual' XP machines.

My experience with Vista: when I'm put V4 (it was the same with V3) on PC, I made templates and save profiles as I need, after that I save this profiles and templates in different place on PC (for example in My documents), after that I uninstall broker Metatrader platform from PC, manualy delete broker folder from Program files, but that not enough, I also go to C disc Users, go into user name that You use, then Appdata, Local, VirtualStore, Program Files and then delete Metatrader folder of that broker which You previous delete. (C:UsersnameAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram Files) After that I install metatrader, put in profiles folder and template folder what I save, open my profile, after that restart Metatrader platform and then ok. It's really helps for my Vista, it use less PC capacity.
