BoxOffset allows the user to select the value of the rightmost digit of the price the EA will begin from. Default is zero, so the EA will begin with the first available price in history rounded to the nearest 10 pips. If you want prices to start with another digit, use that.

StrangeSymbolName is a weird one - you'd have to look back in this thread a ways to find the post where this "problem" came up. Someone posted a question to LV re: naming convention for the offline chart and their broker's naming convention was the most outlandish I've ever seen. You have to see it to believe it - worth looking for

Anyway, that's the reason for StrangeSymbolName...

Thanks for the quick answer.

Setting StrangeSymbolName true or false seems to make no visible difference to the renko chart, is that correct ?

Hi...really great work here!!

But i have an issue i want to signal...

If i put an EA on the renko chart (for example updatestops EA) it doesen't work... i have to open others charts (for example 5M) and put the EA there to make it work...any idea??

Hi Chris, EA's work on ticks, Renko is on an offline chart so most EA's won't work on offline charts ( as they are created from the m1). I do know that you can get them to work by incorporating a script in them, but I'm not a programmer - one of the experts here should have the script.

A very good question - maybe make your EA an indicator? We know indicators work fine on offline charts but can they place/modify trades? I don't see why not but have never tried. Too late to put something together today - need an active market to test. I'll play with it Sunday when live trading is up again.

Hi LouG,

I would also be interested in that. I have an excellent Ea that manages stops & profit targets but it cannot work on an offline Renko Chart. I have to place it on a live chart, no problem really, but having the lines to show up on the offline chart woild be really great.

Been through this entire thread. Have installed the indicator in the indicator folder. BUT
1. When inserted via mt4 insert--indicators--custom command it does not attach to a 1M chart either online or offline.

2. It does attach via the Navigator drag and drop method. Despite checking all the required boxes ie DLL etc. it does not update.

3. If I change the Renkotimeframe label to a different value ie. 9 etc. that is non MT 4 ie. M5, M15 etc. and then go to select that chart from the offline list , there is no M9 chart showing to choose.

I see that others too have had problems with the indicator. So what gives. What is the latest about this. Is the something that I am doing incorrectly ? Would very much appreciate a detailed breakdown from the programmers as many, including I, am new to this platform and are non-programmers.

This definitely does work, LV - tried it with a custom Trailing Stop EA and it runs properly. Let the Renko EA's begin

I know you will hate to hear this but it does work for me...

Anyway, to get you up and running, go here:

Follow the directions exactly. If you get no joy at that point you are definitely doing something very wrong - post again and someone here will help you.

EDIT - several hours later

I just happened to notice the time of your original post - are you aware that the Forex market was closed at that time? Can't really expect much updating to happen when the market is closed...

I happened to post it on Sunday afternoon ( markets closed ) but I noticed the problem on friday morning. Spent the intervening time rechecking my procedure. When I attached a different indicator on an different chart I had no problems.

" The user variable "Threshold" is used to filter the maximum time (in minutes) you wish to allow - anything longer will be limited to this number. I find it helpful to set Threshold to 30, add a maximum of 31 for the indicator window and add levels at 10 and 20 minutes but use whatever floats your boat."

I just moved over to FXpro and i am not getting m2 as a selection im my
offline charts. I have the Renko scripts running on 1m and set for m2 time frame
I have used the scripts a lot so i know the setting, but i must be missing something
0 traders viewing now
