aud continues to look bullish. am looking to get in before tomorrows aud economic data (housing loans and retail sales are out) as i anticipate those figures to be better than expected....which could lead to further appreciation of aud to 8650/90 (maybe). what levels are good to long before those economic data are out?

am looking to long at 8520 and if it goes lower, at 8480 with a view that it will hit 8650 this week....

comments anyone?

above 0.8450 should be ok and acceptable to go long IMO only if you are a position trader and not scalper, if thats fail try to add more at 0.8400
if thats fails too just take the bullets. im long kiwi by the way , you know im position synthetic player too.

Hello drfx,

In my opinion it's not a good time to get a long one athought it depends on what time frame you are trading. I think the best trade is a short on the daily timeframe coz it's an Ending Diagonal,

Does anyone here think the aud/usd pair will hit .8400 anytime this week?

I am short from an average .8400 and would love to get breakeven amid this current uptrend rally.

Due to the size of my position, I can't trade any more unless I take some loss or wait till it reaches 8400.

appreciate your thoughts on this.

im selling at 8550, with gold around 1,000, i don't see much more strength for aud/usd, maybe the great fall is near. i hope so.

You make an excellent point. That rising wedge pattern is a classic reversal pattern. I'm waiting for the break to jump on, though.
