I think what I am not able to understand is the 100 multiplier. In live testing any TF the MT4 ATR indicator shows .000324 and in back testing same shows .324. I am attaching some charts for your reference..please have a look..
The M15 ones are I am currently backtesting and M1 is I am fwd testing..

May be something really simple I am missing out? Not sure..

You can't compare two different pairs (EURJPY,EURUSD), each pair has its own values.

I just tried to perform backtests with optimization and noticed that some settings are not available for optimizations t.e. you can input them only manually, is it possible to do something so that it would be possible to optimize them in ranges ?
P.S. also I'm getting this error2009.09.03 20:48:50 2009.08.04 14:51 Cannot open file 'Drogram FilesInterbank FX Trader 4expertsindicatorsTHV3 Trix called.ex4' on the EURJPY,M5 any ideas for the fix?

For now I will try to modify last CyberEvil's setting file and try it with 0.9 ))

Hi,

This is my first post.
Been testing your EA 0.7 and find it very interesting
Now I would like to use the 0.8 but unfortunately, it gives me an unhappy face :-(.
As I havn't found any other pôst concerning this issue, I suppose I am doing something wrong.
Any advice ??

Hi experts,

I've been trying to use indicator based exits, but this does not seem to be working, despite message on screen confirming exit based on the indicator.

Example, I want to open a trade with imax, and close it based on fast trix color in opposite direction.

So my settings are:
Imax : 110, means entry only, on closed bar.
Fast trix: 201, means exit only, on closed bar.

Imax setting at default.

All other settings are at 0, except martingale.

Trades open, but do not close based on the exit condition specified.

Can anyone help pls?

In the ea there is a condition called max pips from ichimoku which you can use.

I think it would be immensely useful if the same thing was replicated for the thvcoral. So if price was over say 15 pips above the coral, the ea would not open a long trade.

The ichi follows price too closely so you can't really use it for that purpose, however thv'er would know that if price has moved too far from the coral, it will either consolidate till the coral has caught up, or reverse.

What is the level you defined for indicator based exits?

Hi Kaizasoze, don't understand, sorry. What level is this? I have defined Fast Trix as 201, which should mean exit(2) and closed candle(1).
Trix tf is set to 0 on 1 min chart.

Is there anything else I need to define?

please go through the guide carefully one more time, this is the problem many people who are new to the EA face, jumping in too soon without understanding the logic of settings..
What levels are and how they can be used is all defined in the guide with examples. Please refer to it.
Also I've discussed exits with XuX in the forum already. Please do a search and you'll definately find answers to your questions.

Sounds like you don't have THV3 Trix called.ex4 in your indicator folder

Xux - thank you for the new version -very comprehensive, well done. I like the Ver. 6 Trix and want to make sure that i incorporate it into the new Ver. 9 EA. I can only fine two settings in the inputs. Can you confirm the settings that I should have in the EA to ensure it is accessing Version Trix 6.0 inputs. Many thanks as always.

The EA works best with THV3 Trix called. You can rename Trix v6 to THV3 Trix called to use the new version but you can't access the settings of the old version.

hmmm weird I can't make strategy tester to work, does it work for everybody else ? I just installed v9 of ea on the clean MT4, and tried to use trix v6 with that still no luck. Any suggestion how to make it work? for a few minutes it works ok, I can see the indis being loaded and then I'm starting to get errors please see the pic.

Haven't tried trix v6..there is no need. Strategy tester works fine for me with v9.
Try this:
1. Recalculate the ticks for every instance of testing a TF.
2. Also increase the max bar in history and max bar in chart to 999999999, since you're testing M1 you need maximum possible space.
3. Don't open any other charts with live feed. More charts will require more resources from system. I actually disconnect internet after recalculating the ticks and then start the back-tests.
4 Use period convertor script on MT4 to convert M1 data to other TFs.
5. Make sure logs are cleared. Backtests builds a big log file.

Thats all I could think of..hope it helps.

I noticed that I can do backtest for one month back with no problem , but when I try to start from 2009, 01 01 it gives me troubles hmmmm... weird I will try to play around with it a little bit more tomorrow
