Hey Vic,

Still trying to understand the entry... do you wait for absolute full signals in all the other time frames up to 4 hours before placing a trade in the 5 min?

we only take the Full signal on the 5Mins in the direction of the trend of the higher TFs , so if the price is above the cloud we take the long signal on 5Mins and vice versa , the higher TFs are only for determining the trend direction
is it clear now ???

I have been follow and read since the first pages about this systems. The method for this systems is very good and stable after we understand to use it. I have been trade using my live account. I add some signal to make my eye clear when to enter the position. The important part is the higher time frame H1 and H4 to understand and know the real pattern. For scalping M5 or M15 TF need to follow the major trend in H1 and H4.

Hi guys,

Tonight I get home from a great party and it is 4am! I decide to look at my charts to examine the markets before they close. Notice GBPUSD Ichi is giving some preliminary sell signals so I begin to watch.

I include 2 charts to illustrate this thread, GBPUSD M5 and M1. In first chart, we see price has cross down and retest 1.63295 Ichimoku resistance level (M5 top set red circles) but I was not home when this occur.

I arrive on my MT4 just as price has broken down and retest 1.62888 level.
I notice this area is strong resistance confluence of deep Chikou resistance and M5 tenkan-sen (M5 bottom set red circles). She also meets our M5 Ichi short signal: the price is below the cloud, the tenkan cross under the kijun and price inside the deep Chikou span (M5 green circles).

Based on this, we take a short at 1.62888 with SL at the kijun-sen 1.63095 level. She drop down nicely but soon decide to make a retrace from buying above 1.626 psych resistance level. Do we exit? We now watch the M1 chart and see she fail to close above 1.627 on the M15 (red circle) but she continue to hold above 1.626 so I decide to exit here for +20. However, she also shows M1 signal for short on all criteria (M1 green circles) so if we are brave to hold a short for the last 2 hours of US market and over the weekend then we can hold here. Personally I take my +20 and run.

Please let me know if that trade make sense to you.

Step 1: We note PA having difficulty at Chikou resistance 1.62888 (after breaking and retesting Chikou support 1.63295)
Step 2: We confirm all Ichi signals are true (they are, M5 green circles)
Step 3: We hold short until sign of retrace or resistance (in this case, even though she close M15 below 1.627, 1.626 is strong buying zone and we are at the end of a low volume week so we exit here for +20).

P.S: So far that is twice today I supposed to not take trades but Ichi has been generous to give free pips +30 on top of my +50 for today (Ichi manage to give pips in one of the hardest sessions to trade in the whole year! Eurozone Summer hols+NFP+September effect+intermediate trend change)! Now it is 516am I should really go to bed!

Hi guys, I was not supposed to trade tonight but Ichimoku is just so giving could not resist myself. Here is the Ichimoku M1 scalp (at least 1 variety).
Hi guys, this trade was filled at 134.91 as a counter trend short on the M1 but if you look at your H1 chart you see if I had held it till weekly close it would have provided >+100 pips for initial risk -10 because the same Chikou span exhaustion I picked up was also present on H1 TF (without me realising).

So you can see if I had put a bit more work into the analysis Ichi would have provided a super low risk super low drawdown trade with 1:10 RR ratio! Next week we try and catch some moves like this for sure when Eurozone summer holidays are over!

Hi guys, I ask and other people ask how to trade Ichimoku outside Tokyo hours well I think about it more, keep thinking and look at my H1 for the week and notice something every trader has noticed a hundred times. Tokyo play opposite game to London/US! We all know it. I take a screenshot and draw some terrible lines on it to try and highlight it for this week. Left/Right price labels are the the Tokyo candles. I also draw green arrows to indicate Tokyo usually take one direction. Red arrows indicate market direction after Tokyo close until next open.

So we can see there is a high reliability of reversal from the Tokyo signal. Obviously it will not be always, when the financial crisis struck I am sure it was down Sydney down Tokyo down London down NY But we should be able to detect a trend like that if it emerges.

This just provides a possible route to using Ichi after Tokyo close, look for reversal signal on lower TF which agrees with D1/H4 but opposite direction to M15/H1. Chikou span can indicate exhaustion or reversal, and use M5/M15 kijun sen as both trend indicator and S/R with the cloud as a target.

I am sure with the return of European liquidity we will see big moves this month we should try and make good pips if we can!

what you had was a neutral TS/KS cross inside the cloud on the 5M which met resistance and confirmed on the 15M, so switch to 1M chart and play it from there. two trades would have been possible (green circles with arrows) total pips 45+

Hi lbtrader. Thanks for the pro advice! Your circles and arrows indicate some points to me I did not notice but you highlight them very well from now I will concentrate much more on it. Very much appreciate your input and charts please keep it coming we all green pips together

I did not confirm on M15 manually because Ichimoku Monitor give me overview of all TF position in relation to respective ichi lines.

Hardly a pro, we're all learning from the master Vic. btw instead of using manual drawing you can utilize the insert options in MT4, they're much neater and easier to illustrate a point.
the manual confirmation IMO gives you a much better grasp of the situation because ichimoku is a visual system, I use the monitor as a guide but I feel I can instantly see what's going on on the chart.

The nice thing about this, is it's just one extra step, and it's EASY.

All you do is pick a timeframe you want to trade. Let's say I want to trade the 1-hour chart. You then go to the timeframe that's one higher than the one you are trading. In our case, it would be 3-hour(or 4).

On your 3-hour chart(4-hour), look for the most recent Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen cross. Mark it with a vertical line in the color of your choice that would indicate it's direction. On my 3-hour chart below, I have marked the recent Kijun-Sen and Tenkan-Sen cross with a green vertical line.

Next, go to your timeframe of choice, which is 1-hour in our example, and trade it like normal. In our instance, a Kijun-Sen bounce occurs that would have been a nice entry point, or a bullish cross of the Tenkan-Sen and the Kijun-Sen would have been good for entry.

You can do this with any timeframe really... 5-minute(with 15-minute), 15-minute(with 30-minute), etc..

Also, if you really want to get accurate, throw a third timeframe in the mix(5,15,30)(15,30,1hr)

Kinonen, I think you're going backwards on this, what you need is to get a strong signal on the 5M TF be it long or short (the conditions are on the first page) then confirm it with the higher TF to avoid fake moves. the only time you go to a lower TF is when the signal is not complete on the higher TF or has already moved and you missed the signal so you go for a 1M TF for example and wait for another cross there. you can extrapolate the same logic to the higher TF. I hope I did not confuse you here.
