DislikedHi all,
Been following this thread with interest. I have made some modifications to the NewYorkBox.mq4 and included a manually set stop loss.
It works for me! 4 trades,a 4 wins today :-)
Please see image for highlighted change and file is attached.
ThanksIgnored
DislikedBe careful with such a big sl and small tpīs one bad trade and you lose your hard earned money...
if 300 pips is less then 2% of your account ignore this message and review your tp..
Just my humble opinion..
Take care and good luck.Ignored
DislikedIt seems he has 5 digits broker, so 300 pips actually 30pips for 4 digits brokers it is good SL.Ignored
There are a few errors to work out but these are minor issues and I am sure anyone here with a little bit of coding know how will be able to fix these.
Enjoy. This was given to me, and give it with thanks for all I have learned while browsing.

DislikedToday's trades;
5 winners and 5 losers. 4 of the 5 losers had a stop on of 150pips (15 pips) as I was trying to reduce my risk. Had I stuck to my original 300pip (30 pip) stop I would have had one extra winner @ 150pips (15) but lost an extra 450 pips (45).
as it was;
+320
+150
+150
+150
+150
= +920
-300
-150
-150
-150
-150
= -900
Total for the day is 20 (2) pips
I believe the main reason for the not so positive results were my 4am GMT trades. The range was so small that I was easily stopped out due to normal market movement.
Cheers...Ignored
DislikedFor my first post I feel that I should give something to this forum. So attached is an EA for this strategy. It has a wide variety of features which allow the user to tweak the EA to their requirements. These include
- One order cancels the other (stops the EA taking trades in one direction, if it has already taken a trade in the other) on/off
- Breakout box size
- Trade Friday yes/no
- Move to breakeven when trade moves into profit
- Trailing s/l on last order
- and a fair bit more.
