I noticed I didn't get the Chinkou span in my screenshots since it would be shifted to the left 26 bars. You'll have to double check those time frames on your chart to make sure my entries are correct. Sorry.

Am sorry i am not so familier with black charts , but i have added here all the signals i should have gone with on the 4Hrs chart starting from this year
you will notice that there was only onc false signal , i hope my charts will make it clear and answer your question

Basically we have the same trades with a few exceptions...

My charts are just black instead of white like yours. And your black line is green on mine. Everything else should be the same. The arrows and dotted lines show my entry and exit points for each trade.

My trades that match yours for 27th april and 22nd june both lost. Would your method have prevented a loss for one or both of those?

Also, some of your crosses are within the cloud. Do you take trades even if they cross in the cloud?

14th april - in cloud, so i didn't take
27th april - lost?
10th june - i didn't take because cross didn't happen strongly enough for bot to trigger (a flaw in my bot really, but i have it set to require cross to be at least x pips to cause a trigger)
22nd june - lost?
23rd july - don't know why my bot didn't take that one, i'll keep looking.
31st july - in cloud so i didn't take

So you're trading this with an EA jason?

Also, are y'all using the default Ichomoku settings (9,26,52)?

regarding the crossed inside the cloud i'll not go with them , i was just showing the signal i might have gone with , but if you work on 4Hrs and monitoring the daily chart you'd have gone with the 14th april signal cause the price went under daily senken and a pull back to Kijun was expected ,

27th april deal i think if your stop was moving with Kijun Line you might not lost the deal

10th June !!!!! for me i go with the cross i don't care of the pips but any way it was false signal

22nd June same as 27th April , Kijun should prevent your deal

31st july i think the signal is good enough to go with t is just at the edge of the cloud

To further define the rules can you tell us exactly when you would move the s/l to the blue line? I know it is supposed to start at the other side of the cloud then move with the blue line.

Is there a certain number of pips profit you have to be in before you start moving your s/l to the blue line?

Yes, it appears these are the default settings (9, 26, 52).

I'm not trading this method at all. I'm just backtesting. I'm working on developing an EA, but until it can trade exactly as the rules state (which I still need some clarification on) and until I can prove to myself it has been profitable in past years, I'll not be using my EA.

31st july - in cloud so i didn't take
Remember the famous word we used to hear when we were new in the market , TRY TO FEEL THE PRICE ACTION, i think if you are going to deal on 4Hrs chart you must be aware of the actions and the trend on the daily and the weekly chart , as i mentioned at the beginning of the thread i am going to take my deals on the 5 mins but i'll follow the trend on the 1Hr and the 4Hr charts, i promised this thread will be only for Ichimoku but i'd like you to have a look on the daily and the weekly charts with the SMAs and EMAs
Blackline SMAs 55 100 200
RedLine EMAs 55 100 200 300

this will might give you an idea of the moves of the price and when to enter the deal and when to exit

i'll start moving my stop with the first candle close i think this is the most safest thing to do

No my friend i'll not enter this deal at all , i only enter if this corss was under the cloud , some other Ichi traders will go with the break out as shown in your pic , but me will not do , also i pref to work on teh 5 Mins chart it will offer at least 1 complete signal a day so i put my money where i trust

HI vic

I was reading the ichimoku in one internet site and it says as follows


Strong buy signal : cross should be above the cloud

Medium buy signal : Cross inside the cloud

Weak Buy signal : cross below the cloud

Plus all other conditions should meet.

One more thing I have noticed is that if the thinkness of the cloud reduces
it sginifies possible trend reversal which I think is Komo A and Komo B are of same price

i am attaching one GU CHART which is the perfect buy signal

yes this are the rules of the senken kijun corssing and i do follow them without thinking .

regarding the cloud

What i know is that the that the thickness will affect the Volatility of the market , but to be honest i noticed also what you said , i think when the cloud become more thiner there is a signal of reversal , also on higher TF like 4Hrs and daily i noticed something very interesting when the cloud changed from S to R or vise versa and the price is following the main one it gives like an early signal of direction change , am not sure if i am correct with what i've noticed but i'll keep watching my chart till my point fail or succeed

Please excuse my efforts to turn this in to a complete mechanical system but I can't help it....

Can you give us a hard fast rule based on the moving averages in the higher time frame? An example would be: "If you are trading the 5m chart and price is below the 200 SMA on the 1hr chart, then only take short setups"

I know some systems require you to "feel" something. I'm a pretty good programmer, but I still have a hard time trying to get my EA's to feel

The MAs from my point of view are the key player in this market and the most wonderful point of Ichi is that it was designed purely from MAs .
but when i think about the MAs i think about the trend they can clearly shows us the trend i pref to use them on daily TF , for the lower TFs i think the 55SMA is a clear indicator fro the price trend on the TF , as an example the 4Hrs chart with the 55SMA if the price is above this means we are long and vise versa , also the same can be taken on the 1Hr,Some people use the crossing of the EMAs or SMAs on the small TFs to have a signal, but for me i go with Ichi on TFs from 1Min till 4Hrs,

when it comes to the daily chart we shall use SMAs and EMAs

SMAs will show us the trends we are inside
-100SMA is the current trend
-200SMA is the medium trend
-300SMA is likely to be the year Trend
-400SMA and over are the major trends

SMAs and EMAs can show as the S/R levels you might notice that the price react to them on the dialy chart when it first time tests them .

You said it was a sword, and I am not interested in fighting, I am simple informing you of your misunderstanding, so that you can understand how Ichimoku is supposed to be viewed.
