I have seen a few posts about silver and gold as well as oil and ther commodities... is it fair to say that the J16 pa will apply to all these? as they dont seem to translate that well to equities....

Hey there,
I'm new in here. I'm interested in FX and
made some successful experiences with a
demo software.
Now,before I'll take it to the next level I'd like
to get to know more about trading strategies.
Does anybody know a good page, book or sth. where
stategies are well explained?
To me you all seem to be professional traders.
Where do you have your skills from?

It's just that the gaps between bars make it look untidy, but PA rocks...absolutely anywhere!

PS go through the last few posts of James16, he mentioned a non-fx chart where he took a gr8 looking BUOB off a sweet double bottom.

Hi Rex,

and congratulations on your first post!

If you've had a good experience at a demo account than you really should know how you trade, the questions you ask are precisely what a demo is utilized for,

If you haven't found solutions to these questions yet, your demo needs to keep going and all "moving to the next level" thoughts need to be kept aside.

We got our skills from James16, but duh! He didn't place a charm on us, he showed us the way and we found ourselves the edge over the majority of traders that fail in this business, by putting in the efforts and time it required.

The 4H one?

No more trades for me now...it's kinda late into Friday, (the bar doesn't break after more than 2 hours at my feed....typical late Friday stuff)

it's far from "the really obvious" anyways...

with that long upper wick it gives off that indecision bar aroma,

A hard break might still make it playable, but it isn't a setup in my court.

Nice! breakout on NZDCAD triggered my BUOB buy AND took out my TP1(in 1 hour)...SL to BE....letting the rest run.

Ghous, you are a lot more than just an average learner....thanks for the compliment...I have been zeroing in on the vets and their examples....I've only been here for a month, but some of the best trades that I've seen here in a month have been yours....

Meaning, you don't want to trade a 4 hour Bullish PB into a Weekly BEOB, unless you realize that the 4 hour PB Bullish maybe short lived.

Thanks for your insights.

I'm kinda new to this methodology, but not that new to trading actually.

If I could add on my 2 pips to Jarroo's comment above, I find that a multi-timeframe approach is always beneficial.

If there's a pinbar in the daily, and the following trading day, a bullish pinbar in the 4hour and another in the 1hour, we in essence, have ALOT of conviction to go long, possibly with more size, since the daily "tide" is pushing price up strongly. Better still if this is in the direction of the trend.

If there is a daily bullish pin, but a 4hour bearish setup, the odds of hitting a homerun in the 4hour are drastically smaller than in the daily.
IE: an A grade daily bullish pinbar, possibly creates an uptrend in the 4hour and almost certainly in the 1hour.

My 2 pips pse. =)

Btw, Jarroo, the comments you've made are helping me connect the dots for James' PA + PPZ methodology. It's much appreciated.

- very true and this must be considered.

don’t get me wrong i do look at multiple time frames when considering to enter a trade, however i normally place stops, limits / trail from one time frame. This is just the way i like to do it though and as we know there are many different ways of successfully applying this material.

Hey Forexrex,

I was in a comparable situation...I started with a demo account and in addition I have read some short introductions about Fx trading. Now I trade and it works out quite well… In general I would agree with ghous that practice on your demo account provides you with the most insides. However, a bit theory underpins your practical skills. All brokers offer short introductions to Fx trading. As I used a demo account of Varengold and the corresponding introduction to fx trading, I can recommend it to you. The introduction is short and quite useful. However, keep practicing! Thats most important!
