FF CAL v20 and indeed version 16 is reporting "Webpage download errors" all over the place.

Anyone else getting this?
Starting to see instead of just looking.

Yes we are all getting it.. It seems that the FF Xml posting URL is down. I sent a message to them and waiting for a fix.. hopefully soon. They do a great job except for when it is down

Please pass this message along to anyone using the calendar XML file.

Hi Folks! On Saturday someone started hitting the XML file many times per second. There were so many requests that one of our web servers started overloading. As an emergency measure we moved the XML file off our web servers today. The new address is http://cloud.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml.

We're sorry that we don't have a formal method of updating you in situations like this. If the URL ever changes you can get the new URL from http://www.forexfactory.com/rss.php at the bottom of the page. If the URL on the RSS page is not working it means something is wrong with the file and you should contact us right away. We are usually able to get it working within a few hours after we are contacted, depending on the time of day.

We're developing our own set of calendar indicators and the XML files needed to support them. When we launch our indicators we also plan on making the XML available to other developers. When this happens we'll have in place a more formal method for keeping you updated on changes and improvements.

Twee, sir... I hope you also keep the old XML file as well (when you launch your new indicators), as many of us use it in our own indicators and templates.

LiquidMoment... you open the FFCal.mq4 file in MetaEditor, scroll down to find the sURL line, paste in the new URL, and re-save. Make sure you delete your old FFCal.ex4 file; a new one will be created by the .mq4 file when you restart MetaTrader. You will then need to re-pull the new version of the FFCal indicator onto your charts from your Custom Indicators folder within MetaTrader.

Attached is the updated version 20 of the FFcal file, now with the new URL pasted into the code.

New ffcal ver 20 (see above) is now fixed and my MT4 is no longer giving muliple alerts... and also solved the MT4 total freeze (lock-up) I was expiencing from ffcal. Yea!!!

Does anyone know if it is possible to read from FF the "actual" numbers from the web page. In other words not the "forecast" or the "previous" but the actual. The .xml page doesn't have it only the time, forecast and previous.

I want to make FFCal display the "actual" number after the event happens. If there is a http I can address that has the info I think I could make it work.

Yes you can, by downloading the HTML file of http://www.forexfactory.com/calendar.php, and then parse the html file to pick up only necessary data.

You may also need to redownload it every minute(or atleast calculate the next news update) to make sure you get the most updated "actual" data, but this will surely floods FF site, even the XML version was quite consuming its bandwith that's why it's being moved

Some folks have contacted us who are not familiar with MetaEditor, or where on their hard drives to find the old FFCal files (or to put the new one).

I have used FFCal for years with no problems (a truly excellent indicator) but recenty experienced all the problems listed here.

The version on #407 fixes these but I am finding the the recently added OffsetHours does not seem to do anything. I'm using the broker FXPro and their MT4 time is gmt+3, so I'd like to shift the Vertical News 2hours to the correct UK BST time which is what I though the OffsetHours would do?

Can anyone help please?
