Thanks XUX for the new version of the ea.I haven't been posting for a while, but I have been reading all.I have a question which I did ask once before and someone also using Alpari us said it was not necessary to add 0 if you have a 5 digit broker.I know there are ea's out there that have the auto routine built in, but not sure if this one does? Reason I am asking is the following. screenshot.I turned on profit as points and I am assuming which is not always good to do that is the same figure that should be the same as what is shown as current loss on top left of the screen?
In the screenshot it is showing 6.4 as short order current loss as -6.4 pips where under profit it is showing as 64 pips?

The EA automatically detects extra digit brokers and adjusts its calculations. Metatrader uses a different way to calculate pips but the EA functionality is not affected.

Thanks for the verification.Therefore, if I would want a visible sl of 10 for example, it should be listed as just visible sl 10 and this should take out any trades with more than 10 pips loss?

So I want discuss some results of todays trading day - but first of all attatched is my set file. More agressive when the one posted by Kaz. Dont use Coral, dont use fasttrixzerilevel, dont use pattern - I think tf is to small. Even the divergences are sometimes better. IMO
I use the 1 H trend - not 4 H or daily.

Closeifprofit is "false". The MTF settings in the EA ("ePeriods") and on the chart (indicatorsettings) are the same !

Yes probably it is to agressive and would not work so fine - but it may help to see insufficiencies and step by step modifing this setting it will become better ! So I hope the team here will give advices and share own results too.

Why was this buy trade taken ? fast trix = red ? one MTF dot red ? Good possibilities 11:00 and 18:00 - but no trade ? Whats wrong ? What maymust I change in the parameters ? Hmm ... of corse unfortunately we dont see now S/R DP and so on. Anyway - could you check my setup - its of corse not optimal - may be you have some advice concerning serious mistakes.

Here is another one

Since 10:15 - a good run down in a strong trend. Manually I would stop this trade about 15:00 - 16:00. How could the EA do this ?

But the main question is the trade at 07:30 - how could we avoid or minimize these terrible looser ? They devour all profits ! How we can get out earlier from this looser - I saw the iMaxCross (first doted line) could possible help - but it didn't ?

ok a last third one - why short at 09:0 ? At this time I can see only one red dot ?! One the other side - at 09:00-10:0 (+ 16:00 again !) is a very good chance for a long move - but no trade ? What a pity !

Any thougts ? What can/must we change ? For me the most important problem is the minimizing of the losses, I have now 25 pips S/L - a smaller S/L couldn't help IMO ? Quicker reaching BE to save gains ? Hmmm...
The second - how to get longer moves ? Sometimes no trade although a trend becomes running - or the EA (with my settings) stops the trade to early.

Seems that the News Xml file has been down for the entire day at FF. I had to shut off the news since the Alerts were so annoying. Does anybody know who we should contact for the weekly news file to be posted?

yes, FF Cal doesn't work for me here too. Also I read about that in an other thread. Obviously its broken for a time. I think the admin of FF.com is informed - he is the only one with possibility to repair it.

Fast trix is red but if you look carefully it goes upwards in the previous closed candle. Maybe the trix indicator sometimes does not assign the right colours. Trades are taken on MTF closed candle values, the red dot is the current unclosed one. Distance from S/R levels probably prevented some trades.

The iMax didn't close the trade because IndicatorsExitPriority=2 meaning indicators trigger an exit at the second or later exit stage. Use DailyClose option to close trades at a user defined hour.

Look at the dots of the previous closed candle that trigger the entries according to your set file, they are red. Again, distance from S/R levels probably prevented certain trades. To take long moves use a higher timeframe dot for exits. You can find optimal stop loss and take profit values by visually backtesting and adjusting the settings.

What a nice move - going on some hours ! But the EA (with my settings ) wasn't in. Although after 09:00 where have been some good chances to get in ? Green candles green dots green trix - all was green in a row - go on for buy ! But no entry was taken ?

Only a small nasty sell - wrong going - was taken during all that nice time of a good strong trend ? What a pity !

Hi Mandl2007

May I suggest a few things (again!):
1. I am still experimenting with OB/OS levels. In set file you are using its M30 TF, and may be its too fight for that TF. Originally THV indi shows OB/OS level of M30 is +/- 0007, feel free to use 5 min which is +/-00022, see how that goes.
2. Try using a lower value for S/R distance. eg 3.
3. Since we are using indicator based exit with priority 2 we need to define first exit, u can use M15 dot color change for that, which will be level 1 and level two will become active which could be iMaxCross.

Keep trying bro..sooner or later this baby will be up and running..

By the way DO save the real ticks data on your hard drive. It will be easier to backtest what you are currently fwd testing knowing you have the same data and its going to be a lot faster too as compare to say backtesting 6 months data..give it a thought!

I was just thinking rather than pursuing an experimental approach with EA, which is taking a little longer..why don't we take a different approach.
Say eg we define the anatomy of a M15 trade and proceed to fill in the steps needed to achieve that..capture some screenshots of the best trades on these TF and figure out what lies under them..what do you guys think?

I think its a great idea.
This EA has a lot of options and a lot of tweaking is needed. With this new historical data it seems that backtesting takes a bit more time.

Yep - this exit question seems to me important. Atachted is a bad trade (06:15 enter - white line) - I could perhaps minimize the loss, exiting earlier for instance at 07:15 (white dotted line) with fasttrixdirection changing to green or at 07:30 with 15M MTF dot colour changed to green. Nearly at the same time iMaxCross happend - this was once more a possibility for earlier exit than worse S/L triggered exit at 08:15 (red doted line).

atachted are 2 actual set files - one "all time" for AUD, JPY and NZD and one for London/NY session only - EUR, CAD, GBP and CHF.

indi priority for exits is now "1" - to get earlier out.

Using 12 pairs to get more trading examples for analysis of trades - good or bad running - its all good for tweaking and learning !
