Hey tac.
I know you are you happy with your trade results from this 7/23/09 Usd/Jpy PB (blue box) and well you should be. Very nice.
But letting trades run, I believe, is a result that we all work on fullfilling. Many of my largest gains were the result of moving to break even then hiding under the next strong, confluenced areas. These have been with the 2nd half position or even less the half position. ( I do this with many of my trades, even the A+ one, I still learning to let the whole position run on a strong move, Thanks Mike...
I say that that trade blasted through my TP. I definitely want to catch runners and will be gradually trying to develop a good exit strategy to enable this. Thanks

Thanks Ghous, I am simply trying to master this stuff on demo, I need to be focused 100%. I love this thread, however I feel if I try and keep up with every post I will spend less time on charts etc.

Same thing happened to my EurAud Short....I've been sitting on that one since July 14th....
I must say, it's a nice surprise to wake up to...This time, patience really paid off. I'm just hoping that the NZDJPY can break...that would be sweet.

I have been following this thread for some time (Jacko's as well) meanwhile trading as a FX prop in an investment company. Big advantage is that I don't need to try it on demo, but directly test all with real money, so psychological part is always involved in any trade. After all that years trading is nice to find a feeling that PA is what makes my trading successful even if I fight with same "enemies" inside, as you are. Hopefully, I will contribute with some own examples and honestly I look forward to learn more from others as well.

I can't post charts because i'm at work (connected to MT4 with my new Iphone )
BUT some interesting pins are developing on cad pairs, time frame 4hours; especially on CAD/CHF (at a very swing high and important psicological level 0.99) and EUR/CAD (swing low, confluence, PPZ, .. all these factors has been underlined in the last weekend).
Time for a pullback?

i'm new to the thread, but not new to the madness we call the forex!
after reading 11,485 posts, i have followed "the_wizard" grappling with outright quitting to becoming a professional a trader, "razldazl" asking "can you confirm if this is a PB?" to helping newcomers with their own questions and providing expert, insightful analysis, mbqb11 effortlessly providing continued (and patient) guidance, james16 creating a sought-after PF, and i could go on and on (so don't feel left out...
to all of those new to the thread ... reading the 11,000+ posts to date is truly worth it and necessary! take notes, cross-reference your own charts, make a list of your questions, and don't be so quick to need the perfect indicator or EA ... if there is one thing j16 has taught me is that (1) price action is the "indicator" and (2) YOU are the EA!! as you read on, the "system"
will reveal itself to you and the majority of your questions will be answered for you by the time you reach the end and...

I didn't realise you could get MT4 on the iPhone... I'm running it on my old trusty Windows mobile over GPRS... <..shakes head..>
The wife has an iPhone she hates and has broken the screen (not bad still usable this time!) for the second time.... so a swap might be in order!!
whats it like on the iPhone - its got a better connection (3G) and higher screen res than mine.. should be pretty good ?
thats a bummer you can't get full fat MT4 at work... I can but then I am the network admin....

I was originally at MoneyTec (Linda's BGX) at that time and few months back. Was very active there but later I spent more time on private chats (SoulTrader, Beachie and others) and gather more experience. These days I am trading more differently - not only because more experience, but also because using other strategies I need to trade (position covering/working etc.) Small part are intraday trades based on PA. I would like to switch to higher TF for PA to play it in longer term with part of portfolio. Thats why I am here. Posting should help me to be "in the picture" and with market rhythm. Not to mention help and guiding by traders like James16, Jarroo....

mbqb11 Mike, I would be more than happy to share what I can, although I am not sure if it helps due different background and tools (my trading approach, local CEE market and its currencies, more than 5 counterparties / platforms etc.) Maybe hit me with few question preferabely PM, I will answer as much as possible.

Back to trading. I know you guys hold position even for few days, but in bigger sizes I need to cover some of my profits and let rest run @BE. Watching PBs on 30min-4hr. Sometimes I got good entry on 30min which develops into PB in bigger TF. I think that idea behind all this is almost the same - PIN on S/R rounded lvls or nice retr via fibonacci. I am using fibo enter/close system as in Jacko's thread. Pure TL, and PA. Have to admit I locked that short EURUSD trade too early but target was reached precisely. See attached chart bellow.
