Just curious....is MBT more expensive now that the mainstream MT4 brokers? For eg., 4 pips on GBP, 2 on EUR/USD, etc. with no other fees attached.

Anyone else's FXboard frozen? Quotes are still green lit, but they haven't changed on my FXboard for a few minutes and are not reflected by what I am seeing on other feeds. Tried closing out and logging in again but it's still hanging.

Yes, no quotes for ~15 mins during euro-session today..

To be fair, it usually works quite reliably.
After a long time i had a look at the MB Level2 screen again today. In the european afternoon/american morning there are only 2 active providers making a market in the majors (one quoteing 3 mil and another one 5 mil, worse in gbp/usd). All other orders in the book are client mini and micro orders.

The book used to be way deeper (like 30-50 mil and more in eur/usd). What ever happened to all the other providers? Got fed up with the nickel-players?

Guessing its also not justified to argue the high commissions with the deep liquidity when it just isn't there. The current situation is just one step away from a singlebank solution.

You might ask MBT rather than getting yourself in a twist over it. It will ruin your day, all this worrying.

Had the same observation and brought it up in this thread a few weeks ago. Check back a few pages to see Justin's reply..

I agree, it's not really a pleasant sign to see only 3 LPs quoting the majors during active market hours and 10M deep on each side. That is a significant change from months past. I'm not seeing a similar decrease on other ECNs (in fact just the opposite in a couple of cases), so it's not a market phenomena like it was last fall.
Looks like they're listening in, # of LPs and market depth just tripled from an hour ago.
Yes spreads on GBP pairs gone bad last weeks.

I will close my account.

There are much better ECNs out there who offer much better quotes and scalping conditions.

Justin why are you guys manging the OrderComment() when my pending order goes live? Its screwing up my EA's the use comment text - Why cant you just append any testing codes to the current comment like the [tp] [sl] does? - Now it s changing perfectly readable comments to: "acen2s:oggm" - Also could I get account 40001005 EURUSD order cleared (i sent you a email about it) - I have a ZERO lotsize EURUSD stuck in my terminal that blocking action by my EA. Thnx!!

Central banks from around the world have released their semi-annual foreign exchange surveys and based upon all of the reports, forex trading volume decreased significantly between April 2008 and April 2009. Investors large and small have reduced risk with carry trades unwound aggressively. The lack of participation may explain why the major currency pairs have been stuck in a range since the beginning of May. In New York for example, forex spot trading volume fell to the lowest level in more than 3 years"

Currencies are tough, stocks has more clues about where their stuff is going, typically no volume clues with forex.

People like William O'Neill discourages futures and leverage for beginners.
He would rather beginning investors stick with stocks. How can you argue with someone who started with $500 and now is a multi millionaire and has a prospering publication after 50 years and his own trading system? I'm aiming for more stock and less forex exposure myself.

Not much response to comments about higher spreads. I was with MB Trading at one time & never did like the trading platform. Seems like it's been forever that they were supposed to be switching to MT4.
Promises, promises. I was thinking at one time of switching back to MB Trading. But, not from what I read (and don't read) here.
